As a public service to the Ohio Venture Community, we make the list of venture capital, angel, corporate and growth private equity investment deals available to participants in our programs & events. Details for the other deal types are not included in this report.

We identified 291 venture style investment deals, raising a total of $1.3 Billion by Ohio based companies during calendar year 2024. This report contains information on all 291 of these deals including funded date, amount raised, funding stage, city, state & Ohio region.

As we discussed during the presentation, we are seeing a trend of numerous deals where a deal was reported, in some cases investors are named, but the amount raised was not disclosed to the best of our current knowledge. Data was compiled primarily from publicly available information and combined with multiple information sources, then customized to fit the needs of the venture ecosystem participants in Ohio. We made error corrections and custom classifications not found elsewhere to our knowledge as follows:

We made custom assignments of industry classification to align with the growth industries highlighted by JobsOhio in their reporting.

We made custom assignments of Ohio geographic region that match the regions used by many economic development organizations in Ohio.

We identified at least 9 companies that are sometimes reported as Ohio companies but are not incorporated in Ohio. Because they incorporated in the state of Delaware, they are sometimes misclassified as being in the city of Delaware, Ohio. We removed them from our reports, but be aware that some information sources contain these types of errors.
