SCHEDULING
7
Signups will close on the 23rd of January 2025 at 23:59 / 11:59pm CET.
8
If the amount of participants is not a multiple of 8 or 12, anyone that signed up late may not be able to play and instead be a backup in case someone that signed up earlier drops out.
9
Drafting starts immediately after.
10
In the very first Drafting round, you will have 12 hours to make your pick in #drafting. The 2nd to 12th Rounds all will have a 6 hour timer instead.
11
If you did not make your pick within the given time you will be skipped and can draft 1 additional Pokemon when it's your turn again next time.
12
If you are skipped 3 times in a row without notifying tournament Staff that you will not have time to draft on a day, you are disqualified.
13
If you know you have a tight schedule, leave your pick and optimally a 1-2 alternative picks with someone else that is willing to pick for you (non tournament participants do not have access to the draft channel)
14
15
THE DRAFT
16
Drafting will be done in "snake style": the order of the picks will go from first to last on odd rounds and from last to first on even rounds.
17
The order of the draft will be picked randomly.
18
There will be 12 rounds total and each player is required to draft at least 10 Pokemon.
19
Each player is going to start with 100 points and each pokemon has a point cost that is shown in the Draft Table.
20
You may not draft a pokemon if your remaining points after the pick would be fewer than the amount of rounds left before round 11 (to ensure you get at least 10).
21
Players who are out of points in rounds 11 and 12 will skip their turn.
22
Depending on the amount of Participants, there will be a differing amount of Draft Pools. If we for example get 24 players there will be 2 Draft Pools with 12 Players each.
23
24
Weather is a very strong concept in draft. To balance around this but also not make Pokemon with abilities boosted by weather too expensive to pick on non-weather teams, picking a Pokemon with a weather summoning ability together with some of the abilities boosted by weather will cost additional points (if you pick the boosting ability first and later the weather setter, the points will be subtracted at that time).
25
26
27
For the abilities Swift Swim, Chlorophyll and Flower Gift:
28
- If the Pokemon costs 1-3 points, there's no additional cost.
29
- If the Pokemon costs 4-6 points, it'll cost 1 additional point.
30
- if the Pokemon costs 7-9 points, it'll cost 2 additional points.
31
- if the Pokemon costs 10-12 points, it'll cost 3 additional points.
32
- if the Pokemon costs 13 or more points, it'll cost 4 additional points.
33
34
For the abilities Sand Rush, Sand Veil, Snow Cloak and Solar Power:
35
- If the Pokemon costs 1-4 points, there's no additional cost.
36
- If the Pokemon costs 5-10 points, it'll cost 1 additional point.
37
- If the Pokemon costs 11 or more points, it'll cost 2 additional points.
38
39
Example: Turn 1 you pick Ninetales (which has the Drought ability) for 15 Points.
40
Turn 2 you pick Whimsicott which usually costs 10 points but since it has Chlorophyll and is in the 10-12 points range, you have to pay 13 points for it.
41
Turn 3 you pick Charizard which usually costs 7 but since it has Solar Power and is in the 5-10 points range, you have to pay 8 points for it.
42
43
TRADES
44
Trades are divided into two categories: player to player trades and Free Agency (F/A) trades.
45
Each player is given the right to do 5 player to player and 5 Free Agency trades at any point during the season.
46
47
Player to Player Trades :
48
- Trades take effect the week after they happen.
49
- You may trade until Week 5 has concluded.
50
- You may not receive a pokemon you've previously traded.
51
- If 2 players exchange more than 1 Pokemon a time, the amount of P2P trades it costs depends on who of you traded away less.
52
--> so if Player A traded 3 Pokemon that are each worth 10 points to Player B in exchange for 2 Pokemon each worth 15 points, this would cost both of you 2 of your 5 P2P trades.
53
54
F/A Trades :
55
- The received Pokemon must be one that has been not assigned to any team within your groups Draft Table.
56
- You may not receive a pokemon you've previously traded.
57
58
Grace Period :
59
Once the draft is completed we'll have a 24h "Grace period" .
60
During the Grace Period you'll have 5 additional trades that do not count towards the 5 you'll later have once the first week of battles begins at your disposal to adjust your team .
61
You'll be allowed to "sell" your pokemons to get their point value back but that will count as a trade.
62
Your total number of Pokémon must still be between 10 and 12.
63
64
65
THE BATTLES
66
All matches will be Best of Three, Closed Teamsheet with VGC 2013 rules.
67
You may play either on Pokemon Showdown or by agreement on cartridge.
68
You'll be required to play 1 match per week, it will be up to you and your opponent to schedule the match within that given time limit.
69
Special circumstances such as sickness, exam season etc. can lead to an extension of the time limit for the affected players if announced on time and not e.g. on the last day of a weeks time limit.
70
71
72
BATTLE RESTRICTIONS:
73
Players may only use the Pokemon they have drafted, reminder that trades will not take effect until the week after you do them (after the Grace period).
74
You are required to give your opponent an open team sheet of the team you've used after the battle is finished if they ask for it (so EVs, IVs and Natures may remain hidden).
75
You must save all replays for each match (Showdown replay, Battle Video codes or a link to a recording of the match).
76
After a battle you must report the result of each game of the match in #battle-results including the Showdown Replay Link or Battle Video Code for each match of the best of 3.
77
78
If two players don't manage to agree on a time to play their match within the given timeframe, the winner will be determined by activity. If no attempt is made to contact by either side a double loss will occur.
79
If a disconnect happens during a game you should try to re-create the position you were in before the disconnect happened.
80
If it is not reasonable to recreate that same position then the two players must decide if they want to repeat the match, give a win by default to one of the two players or ask the League Manager.
81
82
83
THE SEASON
84
The tournament has 2 distinct phases: the regular season and playoffs.
85
During the regular season you'll battle a different opponent every week according the Schedule.
86
The 8 best performing players will advance to playoffs: a single elimination bracket.
87
Your performance will depend on your amount of victories during the regular season and in the event of a tie your differential will be considered too.
88
Your differential is the number of pokemon you've KOd minus the number of pokemon on your team that have gotten KOd.
89
90
THE PRIZE (for the Winner)
91
The prize will be a european copy of Pokemon White 2 complete in box (CIB).
92
93
94
TIERLIST
95
This is a Tierlist of how good Pokemon are in the VGC 2013 Metagame. Draft does play differently of course but this should at least give you some idea on how good some of these Pokemon are.
