Useful Information Regarding Chests

Stages 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, and 3 contain 12 chests. Stages 4 and 5 contain 6 chests.

An exposed chest's number is solely determined by how many prior chests you have exposed. The player therefore has the ability to manipulate a chest's contents in a route by skipping or exposing chests at will.

Every stage's chest contents are determined by Arthur's health state (Boxers, S. Armor, G. Armor) as well as the chest's number.

The chest contents follow a pattern that repeats after six chests are exposed. For example, in any stage, chest #8 will contain the same contents as chest #2.

If a chest has two or more items listed inside, this means that the item given is randomly selected from what is listed. The exact conditions / probabilities are not known. Certain outcomes seem to be more likely than others.

Every chest at the beginning of a boss battle contains a weapon.

If going for the True Ending....

Every chest in regular (non-shadow) hell holes contains an armor upgrade and every chest in shadow hell holes contain an Umbral Bee during first clears.

When clearing any given hell hole more than once, its contents are randomly selected from a statue or armor upgrade.
