TimestampWhich Feature would you like to be included in the new website? You may provide more detailed information on that feature here:
2
10/14/2014 0:35:55Leaderboardsplace to show fastest times in all games sorted by categories, systems, and languages.
3
10/14/2014 0:36:54stream pagefront page should be a stream page where people can watch speedrunners not lets players
4
10/14/2014 0:44:33multi stream functionon the streams page a way to watch more than one stream at a time sort of like speedrun.tv has
5
10/14/2014 0:49:08more sorting optionsbeing able to sort the front page alphabetically, by viewer count and randomly
6
10/14/2014 1:03:25forums, races, leaderboards, irc, mumble?
7
10/14/2014 1:08:36races with seasonsseasons that actually encourage people to race
maybe have divisions within a game if it is popular enough
also have a ranking system similar to srl
8
10/14/2014 1:15:47front page with useful informationfront page that has maybe a scrolling news thing that tells you all the new WRs recently gotten, maybe new stuff on the forums if there is going to be one. Streams that are on the homepage that are actually about speedrunning and legitimate races between people that actively run a game and not "blind races", "lets play with a timer", or "new game practice". the site also has an account system that you connect to mumble, irc, and the forums, you also have to register to be the front page.
9
10/14/2014 2:28:56Video SectionPeople can post speed strats showing parts of their speed-game and teaching others how to do it. This would be useful to show how to do more difficult tricks and strats to people who want to start speedrunning a game.
10
10/14/2014 2:39:25speedruns both live and recordedsearch up games by system, name, and genre. let me find jrpg runs easier
11
10/14/2014 2:43:15Betting SystemLike Salty Bets. For both watchers and other speed runners.
12
10/14/2014 3:27:00Races, Whitelist, Blacklist, Livestreams, Leaderboards, Help for newbois, a Tag, a Idea Box-Races : Races of video games, no restrictions, no requirements, no limit, , no points, blind or not, just a way to keep track of races and have a general timer.

-Whitelist : List of certified snugbois

-Blacklist : List of certified sellouts

-Livestreams : two things. #1 : A regulated front page with speedrunning livestreams and a way to classify them (by viewers, games, runner name, include races, exclude races, only races, with speedtag, with nospeed tag...). This will have runners on the whitelist.
Default setting should be, by viewers, with tag, exclude races.

#2 : A list of ALL speedrunning stream with a level of approval from the website and its community (not a vote system but like we decide of a grade and if someone behaves better and some people want to upgrade the ratings we can). So the grade can go from 0 to 5 (Pie is 0 , 2stop is 5). and next to all reviewed streams there will be a grade, if a new streamer we haven't graded yet comes up, we can add a "tell us what you think" link and someone that watches the stream can tell us what they think and we'll check it out.

To me this is pretty important, people that care and have shit ratings might want to change their attitude/layout/content or whatever to get a better grade.
Of course the whitelist and ratings all depend on your speed level and your sellout tendencies and everything that's been talked about in the thread and such. ONLY the stream will matter in this, if someone acts like a fag on twitter but it doesn't reflect on his stream (like puncayshun used to do before he got popular) it won't hurt his whitelist potential or his grade.

-Leaderboards : A central point that links to all the leaderboards, pretty basic. maybe have a list of games and the top 3 times for each categories and link the full leaderboards past the 3rd place for big community games. link to other websites (speedrun.com, pbtracker, congratsio, whatever is still alive and active...)

-Help for the newbois : Some sort of guide on how to stream, how to pick your game, what you should do if you want to be whitelisted.
Help with equipment, timers, softwares, websites to get carts/consoles, encourage the use of real consoles over emus.
Help with resources on speedrunning, how to practice, where to look for the best runs etc.
Not just a list of shit, but actual tips, and tutorial videos or whatever works good.

-Tag : The Tag will ensure that people care about the website's quality.
You have 2 tags [speed] and [nospeed], you use the first one whenever you are doing speedruns (no reset or whatever as long as you try to complete the game fast), and [nospeed] for warm up/practice/glitch hunting/casual shit (try and encourage alts for casual shit so you have 1 speedrunning account and 1 where you do whatever you feel like).

If people care enough to add one word to their title, that means they care about what is on the website and hopefully this attitude catches on with other smaller/newer streamers.
If a runner on the whitelist forgets the tag he'll still be considered as doing speedruns and if he forgets the tag 3 times his tagless streams will be considered as [nospeed].

this is just a bullshit idea that should be improved but i feel like implementing something like this will make sure everybody is involved in the website.

-A News page : Inform people of the newest pbs/records/challenges/achievements from people from the whitelist with a link to them obviously.
Promotion of the newest bois added to the list for a week or two, reinforce the community feeling, maybe get bigger runners to check them out/raid them.
try to keep the viewers on the site instead of having them go to srl.
Whatever new features the site has, promote a marathon if we're doing one, or if someone on a site is raising money for charity.
13
10/14/2014 5:01:57more sorting optionsmake the default sorting not have the runners with the most views, but something else
14
10/14/2014 5:43:57Meme of the WeekOne meme is selected from SRG each week and is then displayed on the front page as the "meme of the week".
15
10/14/2014 6:19:21Individual Game Pagesmake each game have its own page where strats and other details of the game can be posted. sort of like a wiki page but with leaderboards and a video of the top run. basically make it a better sda page but ran by the community instead of a handful of people who dont even play the games.
16
10/14/2014 6:28:30less bullshit rulesno one wants to join a 'community' that's super restrictive
17
10/14/2014 6:34:52an unbiased stream aggregatorbasically the biggest worry i have with this new site is that the whitelist for the stream list will end up like srl's, which means that if you're buddy buddy with one of the owners then you get a free pass to be whitelisted.
18
10/14/2014 9:52:03Event OrganizationAn easy one stop shop to set up an event, big or small, and contact communities that are relevant.
19
10/14/2014 15:06:54some news systemmaybe automatic integration into leaderboards, WRs in categories that get a lot of views and/or submissions get listed on the frontpage after verification
and/or user-submitted articles
20
10/20/2014 1:05:43Front PageThe main focus of the front page should be stream aggregate like SRL. There should also be a system in place for advertising big races alongside and a tiny section dedicated to news (new records, marathons, etc.)
21
10/20/2014 1:09:41LeaderboardsLeaderboards should be user-created pages, per game, with customizable catagories. Allows the community for each individual game's community to sort out categories and all that nonsense.
22
10/20/2014 1:22:27No-sellout ruleA no sell-out rule should be put in place, banning streams from the frontpage if they break any of the following:

-No donation/subscription notifications on stream
-No obnoxious layouts, the game must always be the priority.
-Having subscribers is okay, but no "THANKS FOR THE SUB WELCOME TO THE ANIME BRIGADE XD" type of shit. A simple "Thanks for the sub" works instead.
-Mentioning donations on stream is allowed, but not during the speedrun
-No stupid stream gimmicks (I.E stuff like shirtless, bid wars, etc)
-No blind races

No whitelist for the front page. Way too easy for manipulation and other bullshit drama. Anyone who signs up for the site should have their stream on the front page. If they're deemed a sellout by the community, then they're put on the blacklist until they start following the rules.
