PURPOSE: Tests confirm that the horse is supple and moves freely forward in a clear steady rhythm, accepting light contact with the bit. The horse demonstrates greater understanding of the aids and calm acceptance of the bridle; greater emphasis is placed on relaxation, harmony, rideability and pure gaits. The horse is beginning to develop more impulsion and balance.RIDER #8003

Set of cones for your quarter lines at both ends of your ring so you can have a visual of your line of travel and not go past it in your loops. Try this exercise to develop better
44
bend on your loops. Start your loop and ride a 15m circle at the top of the loop to the rail then proceed to the next loop and ride another 15m circle and then the final loop ride a 15m circle.
45
You and your horse need to feel like the loops are part of a circle. Once you both are proficient at that then just ride the 15m circle in the middle loop. You should always feel you can do a
46
circle at any moment.
47
Next put a cone on either side of X so you can ride across the diagnol and see your mark for the transition of lope to jog.
48
Go around the outside of the ring and make walk/power jog transitions. Walk then lightly ask for jog if nothing happens kick and power jog off. Don't worry about the head just the go.
49
You want a more forward intent in your jog not that you are pleading him to go. Enjoy the training journey!
