31NZ Craftwork/Choice BrosAutobarn (handpump)9.00%
5 - "Farmhouse & Handpumps"
BothKerry Gray from Choice Bros. came up with an idea for a collaborative beer. He offered us the full blown farmyard of wild yeasts, called the Dirty Dozen. We poured it into a freshly emptied Waitaki Valley Gewurztraminer barrel, for the secondary fermentation. On top of that we added a strong version of our Grisette farmhouse ale. Then we let it alone for ten months, to fight it out. More funk than sour, this beer shows off all the farmyard character of a rustic Belgian Saison, done in an American way. Strong and yet refreshing, dry, yet surprisingly sweet, with a hint of vanilla oak.
32NZ KereruFarmhouse Pale Ale6.43%
5 - "Farmhouse & Handpumps"
BothKereru Farmhouse Pale ale is a cross between a classic Belgian Saison and a hoppy NZ Pale ale using all NZ malt and hops and Belgian Saison yeast. 33NZ Eagle BrewingElla Saison3.30%
5 - "Farmhouse & Handpumps"
BothA golden effervescent, table saison with a highly aromatic fruity, spicy character. The Aussie Ella hops make their presence felt, but not overly. The fruity spicy character continues into the flavour with a subtle malt background supporting the body of the beer. The dry finish accentuates the bitterness, but the aftertaste is clean and refreshing.
34NZ TownshendCathcarts NTA (handpump)4.20%
5 - "Farmhouse & Handpumps"
BothA delicious golden ale that is both quenchingly bitter and superlatively balanced. Its Chewy malt is offset by some zesty hoppiness. Inspired by the classic ales of England. This beer echos the golden straw-like colour of my infrequent lager days, yet still has the malt and hop flavours that ensure my English nostalgia and heritage are never too far away.
35NZ Te Aro BrewingGrapefruit Gulpin' IIPA8.10%Grapefruit City (Rowing Club)BothA big clean west coast IIPA malt base forms the foundation for big US hops (Warrior, Columbus, Centennial, Citra, Mosaic, Chinook & some NZ Nelson Sauvin). Grapefruit zest and juice was then added late in the boil and whirlpool to give it an even bigger citrus kick! May cause pregnancy.
36USABallast PointGrapefruit Sculpin7.00%Grapefruit City (Rowing Club)BothOur Grapefruit Sculpin is the latest take on our signature IPA. Some may say there are few ways to improve Sculpin’s unique flavor, but the tart freshness of grapefruit perfectly complements our IPA’s citrusy hop character. Grapefruit’s a winter fruit, but this easy-drinking ale tastes like summer.
37USAModern TimesFortunate Islands with Grapefruit4.80%Grapefruit City (Rowing Club)BothThe hoppy, tropical aroma & flavor of Fortunate Islands is the perfect canvas for grapefruit zest, which we make by hand-peeling a zillion goddamn grapefruits and adding only the oily skin to the beer. It’s insanely labor intensive, but the poppin’ fresh grapefruit character can’t be beat. No better time for this beer than August
38NZ TiamanaGerda Gruit4.30%HZ - "Spice"BothIn a world without hops, herbs and spices are running wild. This medieval-style beer is made with a grand blend of rosemary, thyme, cardamom, bay leaf, woodruff, with a bit of chilli and ginger.
39USABallast PointPumpkin Down5.80%HZ - "Spice"FirstSome might think we’re out of our gourd for making a pumpkin ale, but our Pumpkin Down is not like the others. The caramel and toffee maltiness of our Piper Down Scottish ale is the perfect backdrop for a boatload of roasted pumpkin. Just before bottling, we add a subtle amount of spice to complement, but not overwhelm, the earthy flavor. It was a smash at the brewery, and we think you’ll agree.
40USACoronadoPunk'in Drublic8.00%HZ - "Spice"SecondBrewed with brown sugar, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and a heaping helping of would be jack-o-lanterns, Punk’In Drublic delivers autumn’s trademark flavors along with a hint of West Coast character, whether enjoyed in a pumpkin patch or on the beach.

44NZ North EndSalt and Wood Become the Ocean Gose4.60%Sour Central (Rowing Club)BothA rare example of straight up Gose . We have decided to dispense with the unusual adjuncts that craft brewers tend to add when brewing this revived style of salty, sour wheat beer and brew it like they did in Saxony. Fresh , lightly spicy and ocean like.
45USAModern TimesFruitlands Cherry Gose4.90%Sour Central (Rowing Club)BothA sour gose that's tart, fruity, complex, and delicious. The sour, salty base beer brings the funky refreshment, while the heavy dose of sour cherries turns the whole thing into a fruity, tasty cherry bomb. An intricate mix of flavors that works remarkably well.
46USAAlmanacDogpatch Cherry7.50%Sour Central (Rowing Club)BothThis barrel-aged wild ale is named for our San Francisco neighborhood and pays tribute to the Flanders Red style of beer. Aged in wine barrels, this lightly tart ale is brewed with California Rainier cherries using a house blend of wild yeasts, bacteria and SF sourdough yeast.
