I believe Citizens Committee for Flood Relief to be a 501c3. We have a EIN number and used to have a SAMS number. I am not educated in this and though I set it up. I need help understanding where and what we are. I do not want to be a large non profit. I want someone else to do that and be in control of the finances. I send in our EZ Postcards and we are in good standing. Calling the state is hard because they seem to know less than I, I am a good helper and dot connector but I am not able to write grants.

First, the TC TACS and the Biden funds have not been designed to address US' 100k public school facilities which are neither climate nor pandemic ready. -- a looming disaster for the nation's 50M public school students who should not endure more school closures. school leaders have little knowledge ( NYSDOH, US GBC, EPA) of how to manage facilities are are leaving $$ on the table from ARPA. Our plan == culling existing sources and working in collaboration with expert stakeholders, we will develop and widely disseminate info and tech assistance on resiliency and adaptation to the k-12 schools and communities (parents, teachers, voters) in EPA/2- (NY-NJ specifically) and with success, extend our model by fostering similar work by leading NGOs in other EPA regions. HS Network has won multi EPA awards as well as awards from APHA and American Univ. It is currently an appt'd member of the HHS faca on children and disasters.

We are a nonprofit offering solar leases and PPAs to homeowners, nonprofits, multi-family buildings, etc. Our idea is to develop a project that incorporates a component wherin we leverage our expertise with direct pay to monetize the solar investment tax credit, EV credit, etc., and layer in other items such as EV charging, solar and storage, micro grids, rain gardens, infrastructure hardening / resilience, and job training. For instance, we are talking to Georgia Interfaith Power & Light about a series of 2 - 4 community resilience hubs on the coast. But we are open to ideas in other states--as long as it's a state in which we can offer our lease / PPA and bring in the right partners!

Need assistance for community-led climate resilience and sustainability organization capacity-building and organization management & leadership training. Disadvantaged Chatham community in Chicago, Illinois needs grant writing assistance and technical assistance for local community flood mitigation solutions or buy-out options, structural engineering assessment of property, geological stability, and viability for a low-lying community that was rapidly urbanized what was the site of Lake Michigan. Climate change has presented 100 yr flood storms and flooding inside homes and the pooling in and soil erosion on the outside property. Financial cost to residents is overwhelming. Home values are at risk and home preservation solutions are needed and finding knowledgeable engineers and home preservation solutions are needed.

Kilowatts For A Cause is igniting an equitable clean energy revolution. Solar is the cleanest and cheapest source of energy, and everyone should benefit from it. Our team of experts develops, finances, and maintains solar for businesses, industrial facilities, schools, non-profits, and tribal lands to reduce on-site energy costs and share a small portion of the savings with a local nonprofit in their community. Donations from 25-kilowatt solar projects can amount to $10,000 or more. New installations immediately impact people in the community suffering from high energy burdens. Schools and nonprofit participants can opt to have the donation go back to their organization to advance sustainability and further their mission and ours.

We are especially unclear if our organization would be seriously considered as a lead applicant, "w demonstrated readiness" given our lack of previous experience receiving and managing federal grants. (We have managed sizable infrastructure investments in site-specific solar installations, however we were not officially the responsible financial entity managing the flow of $$, despite our management role). We would love to get some guidance from you asap as to whether we should proceed with applying with ourselves as the lead applicant, or whether we need to find a lead applicant that is a larger institution w/ previous federal grant management experience and ourselves as the statutory CBO partner. Any advice or guidance you can give us asap would be much appreciated.
Funding Track I: Community-Driven Investments for Change: These projects will be implemented through strong collaborations to achieve sustained impacts related to climate resilience, pollution reduction, community health, economic prosperity, and community strength.

Sandra West at the City of Albuquerque has said that she is interested in applying as a partner but does not have the capacity to work on the grant. We are also considering partnering with the Santa Fe Public Schools district, as we've worked in many schools there, but have not reached out to them yet.

Our work potentially fits into Track 1 or Track 2: we facilitate creative reuse STEAM programming in schools and the community with a focus on social-emotional learning and collective power building through civilian science. Open to whatever may be most likely to work out.

USB has several awards from US Depts. of Energy and Agriculture (DOE and USDA) for research and development of digital infrastructure to achieve climate and food security goals more efficiently and effectively for nonprofits, community organizations, and philanthropics. We work with several partnering organizations already including nonprofits, regional organizations, and universities. We have new and innovative tech-enabled approaches and earned-income models that will drive achievement of impact goals more quickly while also providing new pathways to reach at-risk, Justice40, and LMI individuals and households.
