McNeel Intermediate School (BELOIT, WI)Darsha Olsen (dolsen@sdb.k12.wi.us, 608-290-6057)1524 E. Frederick, BeloitWednesday, April 12, 20175:00 PM - 7:00 PM4 pm (somewhat flexible; may be able to accommodate earlier setup)"The McNeel STEAM Festival celebrates Science, Technolgy, Engineering, Art, and Math. Outside agencies, community groups, colleges and universities, and clubs come into our intermediate school to present hands-on activities and educational displays to students and families. Our students are from 4th - 8th grade, although we encourage students from the whole district to attend (4k+). My 8th grade leaders are also a part of the presentation team, and we typically have 50+ of these teenage-led tables. Last year's event was a great success - come be part of the fun! ""You're really making a difference by being a part of the McNeel STEAM Festival! Our students generally live in poverty (82% free and reduced lunch), include large numbers of minorities (often under-represented in these fields), and are enthusiastic about the experiences we can bring them. Please note that a longer presentation can be arranged as part of our festival, if you prefer that format."8 to 10Short hands-on science activities that kids & families migrate through at will.
