Instructions: The purpose of this worksheet is to consolidate data available from Sailboatdata.com to faciliate the comparison of sailboat specifications in a single table. This worksheet was spauned by an inability to keep all those specification #s in my head for all the different sailboats I was interested in. It's also fun to learn about how boats differ. The Sailboatdata.com page typically has up to 47 variables. Several variables are populated infrequently or not listed at all. For that reason, some copying/pasting of the variables in Excel is necessary to align the data consistently in a summary reference table. Once you explore the data you will understand. Also, some of the data is probably inaccurate and some data is frequently missing (e.g., # built). Complete the following steps to populate the spreadsheet. If you want only imperial OR metric measurements, click on that before copying.

Step 1. Go to Sailboatdata.com and copy the data. Copy the data by placing your cursor at the top, just to the left of the Hull Type heading. Move your cursor down to highlight all data down to the very end of any entry in the Notes section, then copy (cntrl c).
4
Step 2. Paste the data into either a column starting in column P in the Main Sheet by placing your cursor in the cell corresponding to the Hull Type reference column. Enter Boat type in row 4 of Main Sheet (yellow highlight cells). Now see instructions in Main Sheet Row 2 columns O through U.
