Keynote: Civil discourse is becoming more and more uncivil. As the leading network of young, active citizens, JCI members must be prepared to engage in dialogues that may not be friendly. In this innovative and entertaining keynote, participants will explore best practices in managing difficult conversations, learn how to advocate effectively for a cause, and develop tactics to keep emotions in check and minds sharp when the dialogue becomes challenging. This keynote will take the form of a live-action forum between two former collegiate debate champions and argumentation experts, Gabriel Murillo and Michelle McGrann. The forum will be moderated by JCI USA's National Leadership Development Director Jay Johnson, who will also facilitate discussion and dialogue to enhance learning.
