***New Auto Build Race Template Function**** (added 1/20/07)

Use this feature instead of typing or pasting seedlist into this template.

If you have a seedlist built on your "Seedlist/Standings Template all you

have to do is click the "Auto Build Race Template Function" and choose the file that contains

the seedlist (must be a "Seedlist/Standings" Template), click "do not update"

age groups will fill in automatically and add lines if necessary.

Back this sheet up so you can fix seedlist details if necessary and redo.

***New AutoBib Function***** (added 1/20/07)

A new feature to load bib numbers into seedlist automatically has been implemented

on "Auto Bib" tab input the starting bib number for the J 6 girls and list in the next column all the bibs that are missing or not to be assigned.

Input a number of extra bibs to be reserved for each group at the end of the seedlist (for unregistered or extra people).

Click the "Auto Bib" button and the bib numbers will be automatically assigned. SIMPLE!

For convenience, there is also a CLEAR ALL RACE SHEETS button. Be aware, this will clear all the race sheets, don't click it if you don't

mean to clear the sheets, a warning will pop up and allow you to escape if you click it by mistake.

4. On race day fill in times, DSQ, or DNF. Leave blank if skier did not race

Use check box on laptop at registration to check in racers… no funtional use in sheet but very useful when printed to make duplicate copies for starter, recorders and announcers

Add Additional names as necessary

***NEW If you need to add racers on race day, just simply add them by typing relevant info (Added 2010)

***NEW - Once you have entered the times for both races, you need to click on "ComputeTotalsPlacesAndPoints" (Added 2010)

If there is a tie in the top ten places, a red note should appear at the top of the sheet. At the end of the run, if the tie is still in place, the following rules apply to break the tie.

Ties are only noted if they are in the top ten. Lower place ties do not need to be settled as they do not affect scoring.

In case of tie, the fastest run should place higher. For example racer 10 has runs 20.00 and 25.00, while racer 20 has 19.00 and 26.00

Racer 20 would place better, due to the 19.00 run. If the runs are equal, the better finish goes to the worse seed (higher bib #)

To adjust, add .001 second to one run of the racer who should finish in a worse position. (In above example, the first run of #10 should be changed to 20.001)

This addition will only affect the score, and will not show up on the time sheet

5. To Print Results:

Print summary sheet

Do not type over total time cells or points cells

Click "Sort Results" Button for each Age Group and Print sheet for Age Group

Note page setup is designed to post results of 25 racers per sheet. If there are

more than 25 racers the balance will print on a second page.

6. Print Ribbon Labels

BE SURE TO CLICK SORT RESULTS TO PRINT RIBBON NAMES IN CORRECT PLACE ORDER

Use print ribbon buttons to fill in "Print Ribbons" sheet at end of this Workbook

Avery Dennison label sets (5160 or other 1 x 2-5/8" label sheet) have ten labels across, perfect for printing 10 place holders from a given group

Clicking the "Print Ribbons Row 1" will tranfer 10 place holders from that sheet onto the first row on the Print Ribbons Worksheet

Continue with each group by Clicking "Pring Ribbons Row 2" and Print Ribbons Row 3" to complete labe sheet.

Print and place labels on ribbons for complete awards for all ages

For J-6, Clicking "Print Participation Ribbons" will transfer non-place holders' names to "Print Participation Ribbons" Worksheet

If there are more than 30 participation ribbons to hand out (very rare), the 2nd group of 30 participant ribbons will print on the next tab "Print Participation Ribbons pg2"

7. A few Notes

Points will not show up unless there is a name, proper team designation, and the teams are filled in on the summary page

Total times and places will not fill in until the second time is entered. If for some reason, there is only one run, the second time should be entered as zero (0).

Protection is on in spreadsheet. If you are comfortable making changes, then unprotect, edit and make sure you reprotect

it so that formulas and such do not get changed.

I recommend you leave a few empty lines to manually add racers at the last minute on registration day. Don't leave too many empty slots on the bottom which only increases

file size, wastes paper and may confuse the software.
