5/1/26Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund Scholarship-Be natural or adopted direct lineal descendants (son/daughter, grandson/granddaughter, and so on) of verifiable Vietnam veterans.
-Establish lineal connection through legal documents or an affidavit.
-Submit a military form DD 214 of their veteran to prove service in Vietnam or the area of operations eligible for the Vietnam Service Medal. Incident reports of death (DD 1300 or DD 2496) are acceptable.
-Be 16-30 years of age at the time of award.
-Meet a minimum GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent).
-Submit a factual narrative “story” of their Vietnam veteran’s service and life beyond Vietnam service, if applicable. For those on The Wall or those who passed after returning home, the applicants must interview family members to collect their stories. Explore the sample interview questions from the Veterans History Project (VHP). ---Applicants are NOT required to submit to the VHP, but are encouraged to do so. Length should be 1,000 – 1,500 words.		Up to ten (10) grants per year at $2,000, two (2) at $5,000, and one (1) at $10,000Application Link

- 500 word essay: “Explain the importance of having an SRO in school.”

- Two (2) letters of recommendation (Letters of recommendation should not be from a relative of the applicant.)
- Minimum of 2.25 cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) on 4.0 scale
