Above are using "years of work with no graduate education" as the unit. Below substitutes this with an approximate salary for an EA researcher in USD (ignoring inflation, return on investment if you invested etc).

Notes regarding costs:
16
The cost of master's education seems to vary a lot. At the courses I've been looking at in the UK, it seems to vary from about £8000 ($10600) up to around double this. My guess is that courses are more expensive in the US.
17
In the UK, PhDs seem to cost less than this per year, and I'd also guess that you're more likely to secure bursaries or other funding. The PhDs I've looked at in the US have tended to include full funding from the US. So you could think of PhDs as roughly "free".
18
In my case, lost earnings from alternative possible work doesn't seem that relevant as 1) I have enough money to survive/live comfortably so I'm not concerned about that, 2) I would be taking a salary from nonprofits but the main value of money earned that I'm interested in (other than to survive/live comfortably)
19
So, for me, a simple way to look at this is just to subtract 10600 from column Q and leave columns P and R unchanged. The only effect of this would be to make the master's option narrowly lose out to the "no grad" option in my original guess.
