11:00am- 12:00pmConcurrent SessionEquity in the Classroom and Beyond: Breaking the Bias Habit: Part II: The second of a two-part workshop introducing faculty and staff to concepts of unconscious biases and assumptions about gender by treating the application of such biases as a "bad habit" (it is NOT required to have attended Part I in August). Participants will be provided with research-based strategies for reducing the application of biases and will participate in hands-on activities to illustrate these strategies. Both classroom and workplace strategies will be discussed. While the focus will be on gender bias (STEM in particular) discussion and resources will also include addressing racial and other biases.
