Position:Special Education Aide

Location: Cedaredge (Surface Creek Campus)

Position Summary: The Special Education Aide is responsible for providing support to instructional programs through assisting the teacher in achieving educational objectives by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve the skill levels of the class as a whole. The aide assists the teacher in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and resource materials.

Qualifications: Required to meet Highly Qualified status (High School Diploma/GED and Associate degree or 48 hours of college credit or have passed the Work Keys test

Fingerprint and background clearance

The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling, walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, reaching, and lifting and supporting of students. The employee must frequently lift and carry over 50 pounds such as adaptive equipment, students and supplies and to address student’s physical needs.

Core Competencies: Proven ability to work with special needs children, general knowledge of school curriculum, ability to work under the supervision of special education teachers. This position may have the potential exposure to students with inappropriate or defiant behavior.

Position:Elementary Math/Science STEM Focused Teacher

Location:Surface Creek Campus (Cedaredge, CO)

Benefits:Position qualifies for Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) benefits. Position will have one week of compensated time off per year. Position qualifies for medical, dental, vision, life and long term disability insurance.

Position Status/Hours:Part to Full Time – 28 - 36 hours per week

Position Summary:The job of Teacher was established for the purpose of providing support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students’ parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress. Teachers will be responsible for administering assessments, keeping and utilizing test data, and grading and reporting on student work.

Qualifications:Licensed Colorado teacher preferred or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and demonstrated subject matter competency and passing score from PLACE or Praxis elementary education content knowledge exam. Must be able to pass a required background check to work with children.

Interruptions of work are routine, flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignments without direct supervision.
