Reflection Question: Are you currently open to mentored? What might you need to be more open to mentorship? What kind of mentor could you benefit from most? Recall a time when you felt that someone had taken you "under their wing" so to speak--how did that make you feel? If it's your turn to be the mentor, what skills do you need to build and develop to be the best mentor you could possibly be? https://www.jostensrenaissance.com/wp-content/uploads/theharborpdfs/Mentorship-Print.pdf

9/19Medal of Honor: What does it mean?" http://themedalofhonor.com/character-development/middle-high-lessons/middle-high-lessons/a03-medal-of-honor-what-does-it-meanUsing the Mimetic approach, this lesson is intended as an introduction of the Medal of Honor Character Curriculum by building off of students' prior knowledge of the Medal of Honor combined with questioning followed up by research to understand the significance of this distinguished honor.Honor (Respect)Reflection Question (or possible exit ticket): How would you like to be rememebered? What would you like your legacy to be? What would you like your legacy at ERA to be?Humanities: Consider the stories you are studying both fiction and non-fiction--What characters or figures are you studying that have left a legacy? What is that legacy, either positive or negative? If positive, would the characters or figures be deserving of the Medal of Honor? (e.g. Macbeth - not positive at all, though sadly our first accounts of him in Shakespeare's tale indicate he possesses courage, committment, and patriotism which leaves us begging the question what went wrong? etc.)
