This spreadsheet is intended to help D&D 5e players choose ability scores for a new, 1st-level character using the variant "point buy" method.

Every valid point buy array according to PHB pg. 13 is listed and organized by how many odd numbers it contains.

This is useful because an odd ability score has no benefit to you. The even score immediately below it gives you the same modifier for fewer points.

Each section gives a suggestion as to which races benefit the most from those point buy arrays. This doesn't mean every array in that section is good. There's stinkers throughout.
