To qualify for any series, at least 50% of races need to be sailed, and all races are counted.
24
25
26
The point system works as follows: The WYC scoring system is a low point system. That is, the boat with the lowest
27
number of points at the end of a particular series wins that series. A boat receives 0.75 points for 1st place and receives
28
points equal to its finishing position at every place after first. For example, a boat receives 2 points for second place,
29
3 points for third place, etc. As previously stated, to qualify for any series, at least 50% of races within that series must
30
be sailed. If a boat has sailed every race in a particular series, it receives a point total equivalent to their finishing
31
positions. If the boat has not sailed in a particular race or has not finished a particular race, it will receive points
32
equivalent to the number of boats that participated in that particular race + 1. For example, if 7 boats participate
33
in a race, the boats that have not participated will receive 8 points. This will be denoted by DNS (Did Not Sail).
34
Another example: if 7 boats finish a race, all boats that started the race but did not finish will receive 8 points.
35
This will be denoted by DNF (Did Not Finish). A blank in the current place column of any series indicates that
36
the boat cannot qualify for the series. DNQ means "Does not Qualify" for the series.
37
Blank cells next to a particular boat indicate that the boat has not partipated at all during the season.
