How do you install WordPress on a subdomain in a hosting account that already has WordPress installed?Control Panel -> Add Subdomain -> copy files into subdomain folder -> create subdomain mysql db -> install wp as usual (possibly have to setup subdomain DNS if not automated through control panel)

Users are getting logged out when users leave the dashboard - what do I do, I'm a web host.Add an action to the "logout" hook in WordPress, change the priority of the new action between 1, 10, 20, 99, and then debug the global $wp object or print a list of actions/filters at each stage... could be anything. Oh, and make sure its not a problem with the server erasing browser cookies.

How do you work with widgets/sidebars? Answer: Appearance -> Widgets, know that widgets and sidebars may change as you use different themes, and plugins often create widgets.

You can buy a framework like "Genesis" or "iThemes Builder" and attempt to build out the concept yourself OR you hire a developer (preferably one from the meetup group!) to build you a custom theme, or child theme (they will... or should know whats best and will depend on how flexible additional changes need to be)

How do I get a WordPress website on my GoDaddy account, and how do I use Social Media?1. Godaddy has an "install wordpress" button... you just click it and choose the domain / hosting package you want wordpress installed on. It usually takes them about 1-2 hours to install it. NOTES: godaddy doesn't allow you to 1 click install on subdomains or addon domains within a hosting package you basically get to autoinstall once per hosting package. 2. Social media usage is not related to WordPress directly but in general: Use and write to social networks to gain followers, provide value while marketing in your social media messaging, provide "plus/like" buttons for the social networks on your WordPress website to increase followers that find you by your website.

How do I connect my my current website and my new blog?Depends on your "current website". Likely, if your intentending on using WordPress stricly to blog, I would suggest you install it to the /blog folder within your domains hosting www folder and then simply add a link to /blog on your current websites navigation

Is there a difference in security between .com and .org websites?Yes, .com security is managed for you, .org you manage your own security.

How to update an appointment plugin that was customized by a developer? 1. You can download the updated plugin into a new folder and use a FILE DIFF program to compare the files in each folder. 2. You can create a GIT repo, initialize it with the "most updated plugin" committing all the files, then paste in the "customized plugin" over the top and any files with changes will be indicated by get on a line by line basis. Go through all the changes and "erase anything bad" or use a GUI like SmartGIT to more easily move through each files changes visually.

How does ExpressionEngine compare to WordPress?ExpressionEngine is actually a "codeignitor" project thats commercial, WordPress.org is non-profit. Both manage content, WordPress has a much larger community... and obviously those of us in this meetup believe its the best solution

How to work with WordPress for SEO? Install the YOAST SEO plugin. Research keyword terms that you want to rank for on google, modify permalinks, page titles and content to match the keywords that are most important to your site, use the sitemap-generator and submit your sitemaps, go back through all your content and "link inline keywords to relavant pages", outside of WordPress build value added link building campaigns that connect other knowledge sources back to your websites relevant materis (a very complex process)

In my quick research this was the "best" one I found http://themes.agentevolution.com/shop/turn-key/, many others looked great as well but the IDX portion seemed very useful.

How do I set up tiered membership for selling content online?MagicMember plugin or S2Member Plugin. Both offer ways of automating online sales of memberships that allow access to downloads and content based upon which membership is purchased.

What is other people's processes when launching new websites?Everyones got a comfortable process of there own, the general concept remains the same. Develop a staging site (locally or on a subdomain but make sure you hide public viewing with a plugin or other security measure), confirm final approval of the site and its content, use a migration method (like backupbuddy) to move the site from staging to Live servers, test all pages and mark project as complete. Maintanance is another process all together and completely depends on the uptime value of the website.
