Academic DecathlonThe Academic Decathlon Club is a competitive and nationally recognized club which annually attends the United States Academic Decathlon high school competition. Every week, we teach our students each of the 10 subjects that will appear on this competition, with a tryout test date set sometime in the winter. After teams are selected, we continue to teach non-team members while preparing the team for competition dates. After regionals, we will hopefully compete in States, and then possibly qualify for Nationals or Online Nationals depending on our scores. There is an entrance fee, no application is required, and most members get to compete and represent the schools in either Regionals or States!

AI Machine Learning ClubThe AI & Machine Learning Club introduces students to AI concepts and Python programming, giving them opportunities to apply fundamental algorithms while also considering the ethical and societal impacts of AI. Members will create projects that address real-world problems in areas like healthcare, work, and entertainment, exploring both the benefits and challenges of AI.

American Sign Language ClubAmerican Sign Language club is dedicated to encouraging and strengthening students understand and appreciation about ASL and Deaf culture. We aim to build an environment in which any student can come together to learn about, enjoy, and practice ASL regardless of skill level. Activities and lessons are designed based on building communication skills, advancing cultural awareness, and promoting inclusivity as well as making sure they are interesting and enjoyable. Our goal is to educate, improve, and provide opportunities to learn ASL!

Application and Game DevelopmentOur club's goal is to teach students how to create applications and games with softwares like unity, a program for game development. We will teach them how to use this software from beginner all the way to an advanced level. Then will use figma, an application for IOS software development. Then using these new skills they will be able to create IOS applications to a advanced level which will help them create personalized apps to submit to the Congressional App Challenge and win prestigious awards!

Architecture Club In Architecture Club, we will learn about various aspects of architecture, including history, theory, and design. We plan on providing hands-on experience in researching and building structures while promoting sustainable architecture. Activities will include lectures, model building and design and research projects. Overall, the club aims to raise awareness about architecture in South.

Armenian ClubThe mission of the Armenian Club at High School South is to immerse, educate and create experiences to familiarize students with the culture, heritage and history of Armenians. Armenia, a small country of the Caucasus, is home to some of the oldest civilizations, earliest churches, vibrant art and music, unique language, delicious food and individuals who have contributed scientific discoveries, artistic expression and much more to the world. Students of all cultural backgrounds are encouraged to join, and the Armenian Club will be a space for Armenian students to connect with their cultural identities. Everyone will be captivated by the history, art, music, food and more! Participants will also use their understanding of Armenian culture and history to advocate for Armenian representation in communities and history classes.

Art Club (South C's Art Club)
We are South’s art club, an active and recognized community of artists committed to cultivating a culture of service. By conserving student artwork, decorating school spaces, improving the art studio, and connecting students with alumni artists, we aim to preserve the artistic legacy of South. Whether you’re a painter, photographer, designer, illustrator, sculptor or creator of any kind, we welcome you to join us!

Artists for a CauseOur club is focused on the creation of different art mediums in order to benefit our community. In the past we have worked with different organizations such as our local preschool, senior center, hospitals, and libraries to donate crafts that may help them in any way. We plan to continue our holiday themed crafts such as our st. patrick's day bookmarks, new year resolution stars, origami swans, holiday cards, and candy grams. In between these holidays we also plan on helping facilitate our aspiring artists by giving them the opportunity to enter in art competitions such as the scholastic writing and art competition, wyland art challenge, arbor art contest, ect. We hope that this gives them more of a passion for both art as well as giving back to the community.

BioResearch Club In this club, we explore different areas of biology through small research projects, experiments, and discussions. You’ll get a chance to learn how real scientific research is done and work with others who are also interested in science.

Black Student Union Unify and connect Black students in school while developing leadership and communication skills by working with other students and officers to make events at school that inform and educate our peers. Learn to facilitate and participate in difficult discussions that increase confidence and advocate for students' needs to ensure that school leadership takes necessary action to make school a better place for everyone. Board and Card Game Club A club where people can come in to play board(and card) games, every week there will be a different game for people to just come and have fun.

Book Club In Book Club each meeting we read a short story and discuss the content. We like to go beyond just talking about the story and try to incorporate engaging activities.

Buddhist Student Union The Buddhist Student Union is a student-led club that welcomes anyone interested in learning about Buddhist values and culture. We focus on practicing mindfulness and meditation, exploring teachings such as kindness, compassion, and balance, and building a positive community at school. Our activities include guided meditation, group discussions, creative projects like art and journaling, celebrating important Buddhist traditions, and service projects that spread positivity. Buddhist Student Union is open to all students, whether you’re Buddhist or just curious about Buddhist values and traditions!

Business Club South Business Club aims to give students insight into the modern business world through various activities and competitions. It helps members build practical skills and exposes them to diverse business-related career paths like economics, finance, and entrepreneurship.

Calligraphy Club We are a club that promotes stylistic hand writing and teaches students a way to express emotions through expressive symbols in words by hand. Through calligraphy students also improve fine motor skills and improve mindfulness - this also doubles as a therapeutic club to improve student life with a more stress-free life.

Campaign Dialogue CD is HSS's School Climate and Culture team. We are a student-led initiative working to improve the school experience for ALL students at South. Our team looks at different data, leads focus groups, and finds other ways to understand the student expeience, which directs our work in creating programs, initiatives and projects. Our overall goal is to make South a place where every student feels connected and that they belong. Any student can join Campaign Dialogue, and we meet at Lunch so that there is not a conflict with after school activities.

Chess ClubWhether you're a grandmaster in disguise or you've just learned how the knight moves, you're totally welcome here. Everyone is welcome here. Our chess club is all about kicking back, playing some casual games, and having fun with people who enjoy the game (or are just curious about it). We all share a passion for chess, expect casual games, fun tournaments and events, and lots and lots of fun with the people around you. We meet every Wednesday in room 700A, bring a friend and a smile. We hope to see you there!

Chinese Culture ClubWe create cultural connections for anyone interested in Chinese culture. Every year, we host "China Night", a recreation of the Chinese New Year's Gala. The event includes a variety of performances, such as dragon and lion dances, traditional and modern dances, and fun culture games in different booths. Our performers show great dedication and put in tremendous effort o prepare for this celebration.

Christian Student UnionCSU’s intention is to provide students with a space to talk and learn about the truth of Christianity. Often times it can be difficult trying to have conversations with your peers about something they don’t understand, so my goal is to give people an opportunity to find others that feel the same way and give us a chance to share with one another what’s going on and how we can, as Christian’s, look to the bible and each other for support.

Computer Science ClubComputer Science Club is High School South's most popular, advisor-led programming club, where members learn more about all aspects of computer science. Every Thursday, we discuss concepts in competitive programming, web development, and artificial intelligence to both absolute beginners and experienced members. We attend prestigious competitions including PClassic at UPenn, Battlecode at MIT, HSPC at Cornell, and the USA Computing Olympiad (USACO), and host our own programming competition, WWPIT, online at wwppc.tech every spring. Our club members have gone on to study CS/AI at Princeton, MIT, UC Berkeley, and more. We welcome anyone interested in learning more about programming, regardless of skill level!

Creative Writing Club Creative Writing Club is for anyone who shares love for writing and are interested in taking time out of their day to improve their writing skills and increase their love for free writing. Crypto Quest Club Our club explores the world of cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, and digital finance. We discuss market trends, analyze graphs and price movements, and learn how cryptocurrencies work and impact the economy. Through discussions and interactive activities, members build financial literacy and gain insights into emerging technologies that are shaping the future of money.

Cyber Security Club The cybersecurity club is a club that aims to help the students at west Windsor Plainsboro high school south get into the field of cybersecurity by providing resources and websites for them to learn various aspects of cybersecurity in a safe and ethical manner. At the club we will teach students varied topics that range from basic networking, to blue teaming and keeping data and information secure, to basic and ethical pen testing.

Dance CrewWe welcome all students that are interested in dancing/performing. No matter of the level differences, we make sure everyone feels comfortable to show their skills and interest in this club. We perform during pep rallies, and other events, showing school spirit. Even if you never had any experiences of dancing or performing, if you have any interest and passion, we would like you to be a part of this club.

Data Visualization Club Data Visualizations Club teaches South students how to create meaningful data visualizations using tools such as Python, Google Sheets, and Canva in a hands-on, stress-free environment. Members will explore real-world datasets across themes like economics and healthcare to build quarterly projects that tell compelling stories with data. The club promotes data literacy, helping students understand how data is collected, analyzed, and sometimes misrepresented. Through mini-lessons and collaborative projects, members gain practical technical and analytical skills applicable beyond the classroom.

Debate Club Interested in winning arguments, learning about world issues, and earning prestigious awards?
At South Debate Club, we participate in Public Forum Debate and Original Oratory on the national circuit. Public Forum is a partner-style, accessible debate, while Original Oratory is individual, prepared speeches. We have Fall tryouts AND Winter tryouts with multiple tournaments for each, giving you several opportunities to make our rosters. At tournaments hosted by prestigious universities like UPenn and Harvard, you will develop public speaking, research, and critical thinking skills (plus have lots of fun :D). Our teams have broken into elimination rounds multiple times, and we plan to achieve even more this year with all of you!

Disability Rights Student Association Club (DRSAC) We will continue advocating for the rights of disabled people through raising awareness and stimulating friendly interactions with them. However now that we have ran as a student run club for 2 academic years, we hope that this year we will be able achieve our goals in order to make the outreach of our club more significant. We have dedicated this year to working on small projects such as podcast episodes, planning volenteering events for old age homes for alzheimers, completing projects through other organizations, and planning for an event that we are participating in that involves working with special ed children at our local elementary school as our final end of the year project in achieve our cause to the fullest potential. This year, we want to mainly focus on partnering with other diversity clubs we have here at South, in order for more students at South, to take part in our student led movement of making the disabled community feel more included.

Engineering ClubEngineering Club is to allow students to experience various engineering fields to gain an idea of what they are interested in. It also serves as a club to help nurture students' love for engineering by offering mentoring sessions each week. We utilize hands-on activities like the annual paper plane competition to provide students with the opportunity to utilize their knowledge in a real-world context. Ultimately, we plan to encourage students to experience engineering for what it is, confirming their passion for engineering so they can pursue it in college.

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Future Business Leaders of America help students gain entrepreneurship skills while engaging in business workshops and programs on state and national levels. Members network with industry leaders and other local chapters during regional and state conferences. This club requires that students must be enrolled in a business or business related course (or enrolled in their previous academic studies from WW-P; not self-study) and that students pay a small membership fee. The chapter promotes opportunities of the following: exposure to potential careers, development of public speaking and presentation skills, engagement in educational programming and community service, networking with state and national chapters and business owners, access to scholarship opportinities, objective, presentational and performance competitions on sate and national levels. Interact ClubInteract club is a community service club led by Ms. Thomas. We have numerous events throughout the year where we hold various drives like feminine hygiene drives, toy drives, food drives, and clothing drives where we donate all the goods to people in need. We have also held events at local soup kitchens where we volunteered our time. We also made cards for war veterans to feel better after going through such traumatic events. We also made care packages for the homeless. We plan on doing a lot of similar things this year as well. We're a volunteer based club so all members get volunteer hours as well.

Japanese Language and CultureAt Japanese Language and Culture club, we aim to incorporate Japanese culture within the learning, which is an aspect often overlooked. Each week we will teach something new to everyone of all levels, while simultaneously making the experience fun. Throughout the year, we also hold several events such as "natsumatsuri" (Summer festival) and calligraphy events. We hope to help deepen everyone's interest in everything Japan and its culture has to offer.

Journalism Club The Pirate's Eye is a journalism club that produces content for the newspaper (The Pirate's Eye), and teaches aspects of journalism each week. We teach members how to write newspaper articles, and help artists create art for the paper. We also focus on exploring individual writing/artistic styles while working together to contribute to our online and physical newspapers as well as connecting with our audience. This year, we plan to expand the reach of our club and the paper by holding more events and workshops so that even those without much journalism experience can get involved with the club. The club is open to everyone and there is no application or fee.

Knitting and Crochet ClubWe spread our knowledge and passion for fiber arts by teaching members crocheting and knitting techniques, regardless of their skill level. Our members work on unique projects for themselves, others, and give back to local senior homes to gain volunteering hours. The projects created depend on the season and the individual interests of each member. Our club is a fun way to de-stress after a long day of classes and pick up a new creative hobby!

Lighting and Sound Crew We provide technical support for the Fall Drama and Spring Musical as well as the band, orchestra and choir concerts. Our club is open to everyone although students may be assigned to specific events and performances. There is no fee to join, but members who work on the school productions may be required to pay a small fee. Lighting and Sound is a strong group. We work hard and have fun. Our members support one another and everyone's participation is valued. Everyone is welcome!

Manga Production ClubThe Manga Production Club is a space to meet fellow fans of anime and manga while also learning to illustrate our own stories. Whether you have an original plot, jokes, or ideas with pre-existing characters in mind, you can make them come to life here. In addition to drawing manga panels, we also make stickers, cardboard standees, listen to j-pop, draw on whiteboards, hold optional competitions with prizes, and more. We hope everyone who joins can have fun by finding friends who are fans of the same media and by making cool stuff like manga panels and themed trinkets.

MANTSI - South Indian Culture Club Our club is a place to appreciate South Indian heritage, learn about new cultures, and celebrate South Indian traditions and customs. This club is open to all, regardless of cultural background. Activities include observing South Indian holidays (i.e. Pongal, Ugadi, Onam), watching movies, games, and eating good food.

Mindfulness ClubThe Mindfulness Club is about helping students handle their stress, because higshchool and everything around this time can be overwhelming. Each week we will try out different ways to destress and reset, like different games, journaling, crafts, breathing exercises, and chill activities you can use at school or at home. Everyone can also share their own tips, since we all have different ways of dealing with our stress.

Mock TrialMock Trial is a simulated courtroom experience where students take on roles such as attorneys, witnesses, and jurors to argue real or fictional legal cases. It helps develop skills in public speaking, critical thinking, and understanding how the legal system works. Participants learn to build arguments, analyze evidence, and think on their feet, skills especially valuable for someone interested in law and politics.

Model CongressModel Congress Conference is a simulation of the United States Congress where students act as members of Congress and debate bills where students are given specific circumstances and roles/objectives to fulfill. It is also a competition among other high school students from around the country. It allows students the opportunity to explore US congressional procedures to propose/support/challenge/debate/object a bill related to current, political topics. We also have training sessions and parental meetings online as needed.

Model United Nations Model United Nations (Model UN or MUN) is a club where students step into the shoes of world leaders. You get to represent different countries, debate global issues, and work together to find solutions—just like the real United Nations. It is open to anyone who wants to join.

Multicultural Club Our mission is to educate our peers regarding the various cultures and ethnicities that exist in our world. Living in an immensely diverse school district, it is crucial for the students of High School South to learn about the cultures and traditions of their classmates. One ActsOne Acts is a theatrical club available to all HSS students. It focuses on short enjoyable shows for students to be apart of separate from Pirate Players, the fall drama, and the spring musical. It serves as an opportunity for students to lead and gain experience directing the shows. We hope to create a memorable and enjoyable environment for everyone.

Pirate News Network Creative filming and newscasting of daily announcements to be played each day first period. Simple movie editing programs and charasmatic demeanor very helpful! Must also be comfortable having your face on the news seen by the South population at least one time a week!

Pirate Players Pirate Players present social plays on relevant topics to middle school and elementary school students in the community. No experience necessary. But, a genuine desire to educate younger students on good and. healthy habits is a must. Larger than life personalities make great storytellers.

Practical Philosophy ClubAt Philosophy Club, we dive into deep conversations about everything from ethics and happiness to technology, free will, and the meaning of life. Each week we pick a new question or theme, explore different viewpoints, and practice listening, questioning, and reasoning together. You don’t need to have all the answers — just curiosity and an open mind!

We also host debates, philosophy game days, and student-led discussions. Sometimes we even connect philosophical ideas to books, movies, and real-world issues. It’s a chance to both learn and have fun while exercising your critical thinking skills.

Quantum Computing ClubThe Quantum Computing Club helps members build a scientific understanding of the universe through an accessible approach that invites students who found the complexities of the subject to be intimidating to come explore ideas for themselves. Our goal is to teach core concepts of quantum mechanics and computing, like qubits, superposition, and entanglement, and build on them with more advanced concepts such as quantum gates, tunneling, and probabilities. We do this through lectures, projects, and practice problems that apply these ideas to technologies in the the real world. We emphasize comparing quantum and classical physics to deepen understanding and appreciation of how quantum systems can enhance computing. Above all, our club values collaboration, inclusivity, and a shared curiosity.

Radio and Podcasting ClubThe club involves producing and performing radio shows and podcasts, and sometimes broadcasting live events, like sports. It is open to anyone, and schedules are revised each season. Students may participate all year or in specific seasons so even those involved in other activities, like sports, theater, etc. can participate in radio club at some point in the school year. Regular meetings are Tuesdays but we often have broadcasts on other days and evenings. Students choose when they will participate, including what time they will arrive and what time they will leave since the club runs after school into the evening. No experience is necessary. Student leaders will train and mentor. This is a great opportunity to be creative, to collaborate and to talk on air with peers about student-selected topics. We stream as WWPH on Live365 and we have podcasts on Apple Podcasts, Youtube and many other podcasting sites/apps.

Red CrossWe provide opportunities for HSS students to engage in community service and earn volunteer hours. We are affiliated with the Central New Jersey chapter of the American Red Cross. Examples of events we run throughout the school year include safety skill lessons for elementary school children, blood drives, card making for American veterans and soldiers, fundraisers, and meal kit packing for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen. Our club is open to everyone and we hope to see as many students as possible participating in our events this year!

Robotics Club Open to all; the WWP Robotics program competes year-round in the FIRST Robotics Competition, a global high school sport robotics league of over 5,000 teams in 30+ countries. We have been a district team for 21 years, and are combined between HSN and HSS. We compete across the Mid-Atlantic and have qualified for World Championship every year since 2015. No application, but there is a registration process due in mid-September that includes a team fee of $300. Depending on the time of season, there are between 2 and 4 "open shop" days to work on robots and team projects. It is up to you to decide which days you commit to, but we are not a 'once a week' thing; this is a serious year-round commitment.

Russian Language Club My club is to encourage students in high school South to study about Russian culture, history and language. This club isn't going to be only about Russia, but partially about other countries who previously were a big part of Soviet Union but people forget about them. We'll combine studying history, language and culture with some games and we will have a nice and chill environment.

Science Club (Science Olympiad, Science Bowl & Ocean Bowl) The South Science Club is the home of the South National Science Bowl, and South National Ocean Sciences Bowl teams. We participate in team-based academic question and answer style competitions. The teams attend in-person competitions hosted by various universities and other organizations. By joining our club, you can pursue your passion for biology, chemistry, physics, and marine science and earth and space science beyond the classroom setting. You will also interact with like minded people, making lasting memories.

Science Olympiad We participate in team-based competitions in which students work together to complete tests of their scientific knowledge and ability. Written events challenge students to test their knowledge in various fields including Chemistry, Anatomy, Biology, and Earth & Space Science. Build events challenge students to engineer, design, code, and construct technology to accomplish specific tasks such as navigating a maze in the fastest time. Sikh Student AssociationThe Sikh Student Association (SSA) is a club that promotes awareness and understanding of Sikh culture, faith, and values. It provides a welcoming space for students to learn about Sikh history and traditions, discuss current issues, and celebrate Sikh heritage. The club also encourages open dialogue and inclusivity while organizing events to educate and engage the wider school community.

South Asian American Student Association (SAASA) The South Asian American Student Association (SAASA) is a dynamic community where students throughout South unite to celebrate culture through a year-end show. This event features a variety of performances, including dance routines, skits, and delicious food, allowing students to showcase their talents and hard work. Throughout the year, members can audition for specialty dances, choreograph for their class, and engage in enjoyable rehearsals, all leading up to a memorable performance for family and friends. SAASA also celebrates several South Asian festivals, providing opportunities for connection and cultural enrichment, all with a flexible commitment to fit individual schedules.

South Side Step Team Stepping is a percussive, high energetic art form performed by African American Fraternities and Sororities. In stepping the body becomes an instrument using foot steps, claps, and spoken word to produce rhythms. There is a tryout process but is open to all

SpectrumSpectrum is a club that provides a safe space for members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies; everyone is welcome! We do a mix of advocating initiatives and fun activities, some of which include student panels, teaching elementary schoolers about allyship, clothing drives, movie nights and decorating for Pride week. We meet every other Tuesday in room 600C, and we alternate meeting after school from 3-4 and meeting during lunch.

Speed Cubing Club The Speedcubing Club is a West Windsor Plainsboro High School South student club with the goal of bringing together people who enjoy solving Rubik's cubes. It aims to be an inclusive community for all levels of students, from students who have never before solved a cube to experienced speedcubers looking to improve their speed. The club provides a venue to learn everything from the basic solving methods to advanced methods, algorithm memorization, and even cube lubrication and maintenance. Its best feature is the fact that it is highly accessible; members can borrow cubes from the club's own collection if they don't have one. The club will also conduct casual tournaments during the year for members to test their abilities. You will receive recognition and proof for the level you reach, a tangible record of your progress and success in the club. It is very much focused on community and personal development. The club is also low-commitment and relaxed, so as not to interfere with studies or other interests. Last but not least, the Speedcubing Club aims to fill a gap in the extracurricular activities at the school by establishing a novel and self-sustaining community on the shared interest of cubing.

Sports Analytics Club We know that there are a lot of people at South that are interested and have knowledge about sports. However, there is nowhere for students to showcase these interests. This club will be an easy way for sports lovers to talk about sports. Students will create presentations and discuss about various sports topics.

Ted-EDWe give you the freedom to explore your ideas, craft your own TED-style talks, and share them with others. As a member, you’ll learn each step of creating a talk, practicing your skills, and possibly even taking the stage at official TED events—like our upcoming TEDxYouth talk on October 9 for 1,200+ attendees.

Tickled Pink Join Tickled Pink, South's dynamic soprano/alto a cappella group that delivers pitch-perfect performances with a flair for fun! This auditioned ensemble rehearses weekly, crafting vibrant harmonies that shine at three dazzling concerts each year. Beyond the stage, Tickled Pink spreads love and music every February with their heartwarming Singing Valentines, bringing joy to the community. Waksman ClubWe do authentic research in microbiology in collaboration with RUTGERS University. You will learn A LOT about DNA, microbiology, running labs, doing database research, to name just a few topics. And if successful, your research will be published and become part of the national database (NCBI) that is used by real scientists worldwide. In order to be part of the club, you must pass the entrance exam (which we will coach you for) and commit to a series of expectations. There is a $10 fee to join, as well as expected participation in fundraising events, along with attendance requirements. attendance is mandatory and expected for lessons and labs.

Women In Sports ClubThe Women In Sports Club's goal is to curate a supportive community for female athletes. We want to form a group where female athletes feel encouraged to evoke change. We also want to combat the stigma around female athletes. We want our girls to feel as safe and confident as possible!

Women in STEMThe Women in STEM Club is a student-led organization that empowers women interested in science, technology, engineering, and math. The club provides a safe, supportive space for members to explore their passions, share ideas, and build confidence in pursuing STEM fields. Members work on passion projects, from research initiatives to community outreach, and participate in interactive workshops and discussions that highlight real-world applications of STEM. The club also hosts guest speakers through ZOOM featuring women professionals in various careers, helping members learn about different paths within the STEM world. Overall, Women in STEM fosters mentorship, and collaboration while encouraging every member to see themselves as future innovators in STEM.

YearbookYearbook is a club dedicated to compiling all of South's memories into one book (aka the yearbook)! It's all about having fun, taking pictures, writing articles, designing pages, etc. It is an outlet for anybody to express their creativity whether that be artistically or through writing.
