1		Voting Spreadsheet Instructions
2		This spreadsheet is meant to be used by the Full Session Clerk to record and display vote totals for each bill.

4	1	Prepare the spreadsheets	Create a new copy of this entire workbook. Before Full Sesssion rename each tab with the bill number (eg AB 12 or HB 19). Then update the bill number and title at the top of each tab. DO NOT update the names or number of the bills in the Results tab, these are populated automatically. If you have fewer committees than the number listed, delete the committee names on each tab.
5	2	Attendance	At the start of Full Session each Assistant Whip will turn in a paper attendance record. The Clerk should enter the number present and absent for each committee into the Attendance Tab. Throughout the day, if students arrive or leave, the attendance tab should be updated.
6	3	Preparing for a vote	During the recess before voting the clerk should confirm the total number of representatives present and enter this number into the "Total Present" Field on the voting tab.
7	4	Voting	When it is time to vote, the speaker will ask for the vote totals from each Assistant Whip ("Commitee A Democats, how do you vote? "5 yes, 3 no" etc. ). The Clerk enters the vote total for each committee, and the whips turn in the paper vote record which is the official record.
8	5	Results	When either the yes or no votes receive a majority (half plus one) the spreadsheet will automatially show the result. Once all of the votes are recorded, the speaker will announce the final result, and the vote total.
9	7	Fraud	Once all of the votes are in, the spreadsheet will show a red "Fraud" alert if the total votes cast exceeds the total present. At that point it is important to cross check attendance to ensure that no votes are recorded for absent members.
10	8	Summary	At the end of the day, during the signing ceremony, display the Results Summary Tab, and record whether each bill that passed was signed or vetoed.

12		Note	The background color is black, with white font, becaues it is easier to read in a dim auditorium.
