3	Activism	Birds of Feather	This club is dedicated to creating cozy and creative environments, along with long-lasting friendships with the local juvenile delinquents in the detention centers in our community. It has come to our attention that there is a significant amount of the teen population in Montgomery County locked up in teenage detention centers, and these teens lack proper socialization skills. Kids miss their childhoods and basic, yet pivotal, experiences while stuck in there. 5	Activism	Girls Empowerment	This club is for any female student who would like to join a community of girls committed to discussing a wide range of topics including, societal pressures, body image, developing self-confidence, and social media representation and messaging. This club is designed to help all girls have the confidence and skills to be successful leaders. 6	Activism	Minds Matter	RM Minds Matter is a part of a nationwide student-led movement designed to change school culture around mental health. Through group activities and school-wide campaigns, we will make mental health a priority at Richard Montgomery High School. 10	Activism	Climate Club	The climate club fights some of the most pressing environmental crises facing our generation including climate change and pollution. Through a variety of events and projects organized by the club, members can help create real change in our school and beyond. There’s no limit to the environmental issues our club can take on, as long as students can design realistic means of achieving their goal. We are always looking for new members who care about the earth and want to make our school and community more environmentally friendly.	1. 12	Activism / Leadership	Minority Scholars Program (MSP)	The Minority Scholars Program is a student-led initiative in MCPS that sims to close the opportunity and achievement gaps that affect minorities. This program gives minority students throughout the county an opportunity to connect with their peers and tackle important issues in education that affect them. Students are able to take on leadership roles inside of school and in their own communities. This program not only gives minority students a space to discuss tough but important topics, it gives students to opportunity to be proactive and to work to solve issues such as the opportunity and achievement gap.	1. 17	Arts	Black Maskers Drama Club	Black Maskers Drama is the official Drama Club of RMHS and the largest and oldest club in the school. During normal years, we put on 2 mainstage shows a year and 1 student-run One Acts festival with various different opportunities for actors, musicians, artists, and technicians. Although this year will be atypical to say the least, you should join Black Maskers if you're looking for an enriching community that gives you as much as you put in, join us!	1. 18	Arts	Marching Band	This instrumental ensemble performs in the Fall for home football games. This year, we have created a virtual option. All are welcome to participate. 19	Arts	National Art Honor Society	We organize art throughout the school, and empower students to expand their artistic vision and creativity. The NAHS also strives to recognize students for their excellence in the arts through scholarships, awards, and exhibitions, and provides opportunities to members for developing their artistic skills.	Every year we participate in Youth Arts For Healing, in which members paint landscapes for local hospitals. 21	Arts	Resonance A Cappella	Resonance is an all-female student-let a capella group and the longest-running a capella group at RM. We host rehearsals every week and perform at concerts and event nights like RM Coffee house.	We are student-led. 27	Arts/ Culture	Bollywood Dance Club	This is a club where members will learn to perform Bollywood dance, a dance from seen in Indian Films. Participants are taught the choreography and as they learn can come up with their own steps. They will perform the choreography to Indian film music. Members will have bonding together over their love for dance, music and Indian culture all while getting some good cardio exercise.	1. 28	Business	DECA (Distributing Education Club of America)	DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. There are opportunities for leadership and the school, state and national level, and scholarships to various colleges. Through our state and national competitions, students learn presentation skills, network with business professionals, meet students within MCPS, the state and the world and make new friends. 30	Business	Girls For Business	Girls For Business is a non-profit organization that empowers girls interested in pursuing future careers in business. Since business education is scarcely touched upon in the school curriculum, the mission of Girls For Business is to encourage girls in grades 6-12 who are interested in exploring a business pathway, by providing them with ample business education resources. 41	Community Service	Paper Bridges	Paper Bridges is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping orphans, foster children, and other vulnerable kids around the world through empowering the community to take action. We send handwritten letters and emotional support to orphanages to share love and hope, as well as create educational material, provide tutoring, and send care packages to vulnerable children. 88	Leadership	Jaguar Scholars Leadership Program (JSLP)	The Jaguar Scholars Leadership Program (JSLP) was founded in the spring of 2017 by, history teacher, Mr. Jerome Price. The mission of JSLP is to build the leadership capacity for its members and to bridge the achievement gap for minority students across the county. JSLP fosters mentorship opportunities for its African American and Latino students at Richard Montgomery High School through field-trips, like meeting Congressman John Lewis, and leadership opportunities, like mentoring students from Twinbrook Elementary School. Membership into JSLP is a very prestigious opportunity for ninth through eleventh-grade students with a 3.0 grade-point average or higher. JSLP has had opportunities to meet with many important leaders in the community and the nation. This is something we don't take lightly and an important reminder of our responsibility to take the torch from the previous generation of leaders and become the nation's future leaders.	1. 90	Math / Logic	Math Modeling Club	In the RM Math Modeling Club, we focus on using math learned in school and applying this knowledge so we can understand real life problems. We participate in various different competitions, and prepare for them by discussing various different mathematical models such as the SIR model, Markov chains, and more!	1. 91	Math / Logic	Math Honor Society	Tha Math Honor Society seeks to serve all students interested in practicing and extending their math skills, especially to real world experiences. Sharing this passion for math is a key element, especially to serve as tutors both within and outside of the formal RMHS homework club.	The Math Honor Society provides membrs with enriched opportunities ranging from school-wide events to national competitions. Math is always fun with us. 92	Math/Logic	Math Team	The Math Team participates in math competitions against other schools in Montgomery County on Wednesdays between September and February. Math Team members also participate in competitions like AMC and are notified of tournaments held in locations such as JHU. On weeks when competitions are not scheduled, the team meets to review practice questions and have fun with math.	Topics include algebra, number theory, probability, etc. Team members qualify for later rounds of the competitions such as UMD's Math Competition and AMC. The club is pretty relaxed and the main goal is to learn math together. 97	Science & Technology	Biology Club	Biology club hosts a variety of events aimed at promoting interest for biology in the RM community, such as student lectures and guest speakers. Members learn biology that extends beyond what is taught in the average classroom and thrive in opportunities such as the USA Biology Olympiad and the National Biology Competition. Come check it out!	Meetings generally consist of an interactive discussion on a topic of biology that is not explored in depth in the regular curriculum. 98	Science & Technology	Chemistry Club	Chemistry Club provides many opportunities for RM students interested in chemistry to enhance their understanding of a broad range of chemistry concepts. Members will engage in interactive presentations, listen to guest speakers, and will also have the chance to perform fun, hands-on chemistry experiments once MCPS goes back to in-school learning. Chemistry Club members will also be able to participate in competitions such as the Maryland Chemathon and United States National Chemistry Olympiad.	1.
