We'll probably leave it cleaner than when the government was actually working, proving that the free market and voluntarism works better than government.

We're meeting at Brandywine Falls parking area at 10AM on Sunday and spreading out from there. A full activities plan will be available at that time.

George Rogers Clark Memorial2019-01-074:45 PM5:15 PM401 South 2nd StreetVincennesIN47591ShaneLemler(812) 396-8182slemler2018@gmail.comWith the government in a partial shutdown, many parks around the country are having some issues with trash removal. The problem is, no one wants to take a few minutes out of their day to do what we do not need government to save us from...a little work.

At larger parks, like Yellowstone, the private sector is stepping up by paying for clean up to keep tourism in their area going. In smaller ones, they need people to come in and help a bit, freely. So that is just what Libertarian Party of Knox County members: Bruce Johnson (city council candidate for at large), Shane Lemler (city council candidate for district 3), and Will Inman did today. Volunteerism in action 😍

Even if you aren't a Libertarian or don't know much about us, come down to the Boulder Beach Ranger Station to help us clean up the main beach area. This beautiful site is visited by thousands of tourists awestruck at its beauty each year - help us keep this park beautiful and free of trash while the normal park services are shut down.

We'll supply gloves and trash bags, so just bring yourselves and some friends to help!

National Mall2019-01-1312:00 PM3:00 PMhttps://www.facebook.com/events/305064730125065/Jefferson Drive SW and 12th Street SWWashingtonDistrict of Columbia20024AdamTheo(850) 322-0470chair@lpnova.orgSince the #FederalGovernment continues to be shutdown with no end in sight, National Park Service employees and contractors are still unable to clean and maintain the #NationalMall, our country's front yard.
When us #Libertarians mobilized this past weekend, on Day 16 of the #Shutdown, we managed to collect more bags of trash than could be stuffed into a minivan, and this was just from the western half of the Mall.
We are serious about the power of #grassroots #voluntaryism. It's never merely a one time action to make ourselves feel good.
So join us again this Sunday, Day 22 of the #GovernmentShutdown to continue cleaning and beautifying #AmericasFrontLawn.
This will be an opportunity for libertarians and all #voluntaryists to show the rest of the country how our parks and public areas can work without taxpayer funding. The American people themselves can and will keep it #CleanAndBeautiful on our own.
This time will be even bigger, covering even more of the Mall and bringing in even more trash. The times and locations will be a little different, so stay tuned for those details.
This is an effort between the local District of Columbia and Northern Virginia chapters of the Libertarian Party. Local affiliates can easily make huge impacts without needing top-down tasking, and we seriously encourage everyone to take on some public clean-up effort like this - even if it's just a couple of local members in t-shirts or hats. It's the single easiest way to be seen and show neighbors what libertarianism is all about.
If you live outside the area and can't make it in, then visit www.lp.org/libertarians-organize-park-cleanups-nationwide for some help and encouragement in your own area.
Let's #RiseUpAndCleanUp our communities while #Congress and the #WhiteHouse squabble.
