Hi! Join me and leave comments as I get re-acquainted with the world of nail polish and home manicures. At the moment, I'm updating this sheet daily. My primary mission is to find the best ridge filler on the market for my vertical ridges, which are fairly deep. There's not much detailed discussion of ridge fillers on the internet, so hopefully this document and the accompanying Reddit posts will help change that. Along the way I seem to be developing opinions on top coats and polishes, as well, so look for those tabs down below. This is funded with my own money and I have no relationships with any brand, anywhere, so all of this will be brutally honest. I'll be sticking with good old-fashioned nail lacquer and faux gels for natural nails. No products on this sheet will be geared toward nail art, gel manicures cured by UV light, acrylic nails, or press-on nails. I'm not testing for long-wear or staining just yet as I'm focused on whether ridges show through after 12-24 hours.

Ridge Filler: My ideal ridge filler will completely hide my vertical ridges in as few coats as possible. It will dry quickly in a color that blends in with the nail bed. Hopefully it will be cheap and widely available in stores. I'm prepared to be pretty flexible on all these requirements depending on what I find. Not evaluating products marketed primarily as a strengthener as those make the nails brittle with continued use. Not evaluating products that seem to be discontinued. Few boutique brands will be represented here as I intend the winner(s) of this process to be a long-term part of my nail routine. Boutique brands seem to go out of business fairly often, cool though they are.

Top Coats: Quick-dry is a must. My winner will probably be versatile and not necessarily tied to one polish system, though I do plan to test a few of those, as well. I'm hoping for one that is cheaper, widely available, doesn't shrink too much, and doesn't smell too bad. I'm less picky about top coat than I am ridge filler.

Polish Shades: Much of what you see here are polishes that I picked up in sets of mini-bottles. I've listed the average retail price for a full-size bottle, instead. In some cases, shades are not available outside the set, which is noted on the sheet.
