Everyone needs support and encouragement right now to keep going during this challenging time!Likely going to be implemented within several of the schools across campus, but we were given the option school by school as to whether we wanted to engage in it or not. The biggest buy-in was from the undergraduate programs, although they did express concerns that they did not want the student penalized if/when they applied to graduate school or professional programs and the admissions committee saw a P/F grade. This led to the development of a guidance document that is under development for the students choosing this so they know the pros and cons of their decision.

We are letting sites dictate our rotations. If they are OK we will keep students there and follow their protocols which range from very strict to very lenient. Strict sites require questionnaires to be completed about travel and symptoms and temperature is taken as the enter and leave some hospitals each day. At this point none of our community APPE's have been cancelled. All of our hospital, inpatient, and ambulatory care have been increasing in cancellation. At this point, we have 25% of rotations we have lost for this block. We need to use last rotation for students to get requirements for graduation and so we will see if that is possible over the next couple of weeks and if cancelled, we have several contigency plans (utilizing ACPE's latest flexibility for counting past rotations for future experiences) that will allow us to have about 85% of our students graduate on time, others (if no final block rotations available) will need to graduate late. See P1, P2, P3 status for this.

NoneClasses for all students in the College of Pharmacy were cancelled Monday-Wednesday (3/16-3/18). Classes resumed online today (3/19) and will continue to be delivered online throughout the remainder of the semester. See P1 student statusSee P1 student statusAll students currently enrolled in rotation block 7 will complete as scheduled, if allowed by practice site. If practice site requests student be removed, case-by-case solutions will be identified between the student, practice site, and OEE to complete the experience. After block 7 all students will have 1440 hours so block 8 rotations have been cancelled. For students originally scheduled for a core rotation during block 8, the objectives/competencies of their completed elective rotations were reviewed and compared to their missing core rotation. After review, all core rotations were able to be met with additional supplementation needed for APPE community and APPE institutional. CORE Readiness playlist were developed as additional supplementation for these two experiences. All students are on-track for graduation. All IPPEs are completed during the summer, so not affected at this time. Contingency plan in place in the event IPPEs cannot begin on May 25, 2020Faculty and staff at our New Orleans and Shreveport campuses were sent home yesterday (3/18) at 5pm and will work from home until further notice. It is expected that faculty from our Monroe (main) campus will be expected to do the same today or tomorrow. UPDATE: All Monroe faculty are now working from home effective 3/23/20.Governor has issued a statewide Stay at Home order effective 5pm March 23, 2020. This is in effect until April 12, 2020 when the situation in Louisiana will be re-evaluated.

A proposal to allow students to choose Pass/Fail vs Letter Grades is before our university Faculty Council at the present.UT's proposal passes, it will be for all students. Except for graduate students it will be CR/No Credit. The College of Pharmacy will be able to maintain our own definition of pass which we defined as a minimum letter grade of C- in a course several years ago.
