|SpartaHack 2017 Travel Policy|
|Note: Hacker check-in is 6-9 PM on Friday 1/20; Closing ceremony is 4-6 PM on Sunday 1/22|
|Travel Reimbursement Rules|
You can use any transportation method (driving, flying, bus, train, etc.); this does not affect your reimbursement rate or eligibility.
|In order to receive travel reimbursement, you must:|
|1. Apply, be accepted, and RSVP "Yes" on www.spartahack.com (everyone in carpool)|
|2. Make a public social media post before you begin traveling to SpartaHack (one per carpool)|
|A. Include a photo of you and any carpoolers|
|B. Tag your starting location|
|C. Include the hashtag #JourneyToSparta2k17|
|3. Check in at SpartaHack on January 20th (everyone in carpool)|
|4. Complete our travel form, which will be emailed to all attendees after the event (one per carpool)|
|A. The person filling out the form must list the names and emails of all carpoolers & link the social media post|
|Travel Reimbursement Amounts|
|Reimbursement amounts are listed on the next sheet, "University Look-Up Table", as GROUP RATES (not per person).|
Choose the university closest to your travel starting point and check the value associated with your carpool size (1 = traveling alone).
|If you don't see your university listed, email firstname.lastname@example.org.|
|We may raise the value for which you are eligible, but we will never lower it.|
If you complete all the items under "Travel Reimbursement Rules", you will receive a check for your full reimbursement eligibility.

|We have not yet chartered any buses to transport non-local students to SpartaHack.|
|If we do charter a bus to your area, we will send you an email.|
Michigan Flyer bus (2 hours, $50 round-trip booked in advance) is available from DTW airport & drops off a 20-min walk from the venue.
