0-4 points: Applicant does not reflect on their teaching artistry and does not provide information about their skill set and teaching strategies that lead to success as an artist or teacher. 5-10 points: Applicant reflects on their teaching artistry with minimal information about their skill set and teaching strategies that lead to success as an artist and a teacher.11-16 points: Applicant reflects on their teaching artistry including relevant information about their skill set and teaching strategies that lead to success as both an artist and a teacher.17-20 points: Applicant thoroughly reflects on their teaching artistry including detailed information about their skill set, pedagogical strategies used to promote learning, and how they measure success.

5-7 points: Recorded observation demonstrates some level of skill in the indicated art form, teaching practice, and working with students. 8-12 points: Recorded observation demonstrates a high level of skill in the indicated art form, teaching practice, and working with students.

13-15 points: Recorded observation demonstrates excellence in the indicated art form, teaching practice, and working with students.

Lesson Plan 1 & 2 (Use this evaluation metric for each Lesson Plan)

0-4 points: Lesson plan is missing, incomplete or is not aligned with the 2017 SC Visual and Performing Arts Proficiency Standards. Plan lacks most key elements including: target anchor standards, how standards are addressed, objectives, essential questions, description of instruction and activities, assessment and the role of the TA and Cooperating teacher.

5-7 points: Lesson plan includes some detail and is aligned with the 2017 SC Visual and Performing Arts Proficiency Standards, but lacks key elements. Plan includes some, but not all of the following: target anchor standards, how standards are addressed, objectives, essential questions, description of instruction and activities, assessment and the role of the TA and Cooperating teacher.

8-12 points: Lesson plan is detailed and aligned with the 2017 SC Visual and Performing Arts Proficiency Standards, lists targeted anchor standard(s), and sufficiently identifies how the standards are addressed. Plan includes sufficient objectives, essential questions, description of instruction and activities, assessment and identifies the role of the TA and Cooperating teacher.

13-15 points: Lesson plan is thorough, detailed and aligned with the 2017 SC Visual and Performing Arts Proficiency Standards, lists targeted anchor standard(s), and clearly identifies how the standards are addressed. Plan includes clear objectives, essential questions, description of instruction and activities, assessment and clearly identifies the role of the TA and Cooperating teacher.
