If you have any empty large coffee tins, (we are looking for at least 25+), could you please bring them in.
The EarthBUDS would like to distribute them into each classroom so you have an easy way of collecting used markers, including dry erase and highlighters. In each Prep Room and in the Office there is a collection box for used markers to be recycled.....so in the meantime please place them into the box.
It's a simple way of reducing the overwhelming amount of plastic produced today.
Give a hoot and don't pollute!
|All Students||General||We want to thank you for your efforts in recycling and for having your students take on this responsibility. |
This Wednesday, the EarthBUDs will be assessing your recycling bins as you take them down for emptying. Students will be awarded for their efforts and each class will be rated.
We are assessing proper recycling with no contaminates.
Things we will be looking for:
-no paper towel, tissues or napkins in the black bin (these go in the green bin- not recyclable)
-paper and cardboard must be clean ( only clean pizza boxes, if dirty goes in green bin)
-no paper coffee cups (goes in green bin)
-no plastic bags or plastic wrapping
-no coffee lids (unfortunately garbage)
-no juice pouches
-no cold drink cups (goes in green bin)
Proper recycling is very important in making the recycling system work. If the recycling bins are contaminated it has an increase chance of it being disposed of as garbage.
Together we can do better!
|All Students||Clubs/Extra-Curriculas||The gang in the Autism Unit (Team 316) are dreaming of warmer weather, sunny skies ... and our annual end of the year trek to Lac Philippe for a picnic and swimming. An added bonus is enjoying the trip via "yellow school bus"!|
The money raised from our Senators ticket fundraiser for the past three years has funded the school bus and we are counting on your continued support to make this happen for our kiddos again this year!
The prize is 2 tickets for the Saturday March 24th game against Carolina and the seats are in section 205. Parking is also included! Tickets are selling for a steal at $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00.
We will begin selling tickets this week. If any teachers or students would like to drop by and pick up some tickets to sell at school or at home, feel free to come and see us in room 316!
Thank you all in advance for supporting our wonderful students!

Also, we are challenging staff and students to a writing contest. This year’s contest is about how you #CONNECT2EARTH. What do you feel connected with? What would you like to protect? Is it our oceans, our forests, rivers, the air we breathe, or threatened animals? How would you change things for the better?
Your responses should be around 50 words or less done on GOOS paper. Illustrations are welcome too. Contest closes end of day this Friday. Great prizes will be awarded to our 3 top winners. Let's start conversations that lead to actions.
