It has not changed my understanding of the use of digital media.
While I have created a lot of video, audio and images for various education related events, I have not shared a many of them online. This projects allowed me to explore, play and share my media.
The project was a fun way to play and create online content while also learning about others that were on the same journey.
Using new tools every week while trying to say interesting things proved to be challenging.
It made me aware of the wide variety of digital media that are available.
The #walkmyworld project allowed me to play and learn new tools in order to express my professional persona. I have added new aspects to my digital identity to more accurately reflect the fun educator that I want people to see.
My online identity is different from my offline identity.
While I am just one person, I have multiple identities online. There is the bland Facebook persona where I update my status and respond to requests that my friends and family would care about. There is my tumblr and 1 twitter account where I blog, and reblog posts about gender and queer representation in the media. Now there is my professional twitter account where I blog and create media about all things education.
No, I always thought the internet was a great tool for teaching and learning. This project did help me discover different tools that I can use online.
Master's degreeFemale30 to 39
Digital identity is person/avatar/creation that you cultivate so that others can identify the type of information that they will receive when viewing your posts/tweets. For example, in my professional identity I strive to discuss educational topics with a little bit of humor and a lot of multimedia.
Right now, I am contemplating my future career options. Obviously, if I stay a music teacher my online digital identity, while important, would not be as vital as if I wanted to switch careers into something more technology based. I feel that as a music teacher, while I need to have a web presence in order to better service my students, my identity would not have to be as robust as it would be it I was changing careers.
Honestly, while I find it somewhat important to have a digital identity for my professional career, especially if I am thinking about changing jobs in the near future, education is just not where my passion lies. This project, however, has given me many ideas on how to improve my other digital identities that I am passionate about. Throughout this project I have found myself going to my other identity and trying out new things. I definitely am going to continue cultivating that identity when I have more time in the future.

It increased my understanding of the use of digital media.
I love the playful energy of the events and the way that Greg and Ian support newcomers and others. There's a very positive vibe to the venture.
I wish more people would blog, and comment, and it seems like one area that, from my perspective, is not strong is collaboration among people for projects. We are doing our own thing, in our own space, and I'd love to see more working together, and more direct reactions to what people are doing. I went to a few blog posts and no one had commented (well, maybe Ian and Greg) or left any notice that it had been read, digested, thought about.
It made me aware of the wide variety of digital media that are available.
It gave me reflection points from which to look at myself in a new light, and examine the line between online and offline identity, and the converging points of the two.
There is no difference between my online identity and my offline identity.
Maybe we need a middle ground answer ... but overall, I make/create offline as well as online, and I believe my identity is pretty closely aligned in both places. Perhaps I am viewed as more artistic in online spaces but that is only because I am adept at using technology that helps me fill the artistic gap in offline life (thinking: drawing, etc. as art)
I am already fully immersed.
Thanks!Master's degreeMale40 to 49
I think digital identity is a slowly developed sense of self in online spaces that we project out to the world. Sometimes, that identity is defined by the technology. Other times (we need more of this), we use the technology to define ourselves.
As a teacher, I think it is important to have a positive footprint in digital worlds, if only to network with others and to set an example for our students. You will be Googled.

It made me aware of the wide variety of digital media that are available.
I started using twitter more often because of this project
The walk my world project gave me an opportunity to share more about my life growing up and what views I have on major topics that are trending in my field.
During the walk my world project I had to learn how to use new digital tools then use them to cultivate my learning and share the information.
I really struggled to use PowToon and have yet to use it properly yet although I keep trying.
It made me aware of the wide variety of digital media that are available., My use of online texts have not been influenced by my experiences with the project. , I use online texts more frequently., I think deeply about engaging with digital media.
I was pushed to use a variety of new tools such as storify, flipagram, and vine although I have never used them in the past.
There is no difference between my online identity and my offline identity.
I share my honest opinions and views online as I do in real life.
This project has encouraged me to use more internet and technology in general in my classroom. I have started to use things like a chrome cast, youtube clips, TED talks, and I'm in the beginning phases of setting up and using Google Classroom.
This project helped me to see that you can display the same information in a variety of ways using many different digital tools.
Master's degreeFemale19 to 29
Digital identify to me is what people see of you and think of you based on what you post online.
Digital identity is important to me and my future career because I want people to think highly of me. I also want to use online tools appropriately to be a good role model for my students and players.
As I continue the ITDML program my digital identity will continue to develop and take shape over the next few months.

It made me aware of the wide variety of digital media that are available.
I have become much more familiar with Twitter and sharing/finding information using the #. I didn't use Twitter so much before this experience.
It meant a chance to see what other people in other parts of the world think about different topics. It also meant a chance to explore different ways of communicating online.
I found that I wasn't able to see all the contributions made to the project. When I searched #walkmyworld on Twitter, it didn't bring up all of the responses to each event.
It made me aware of the wide variety of digital media that are available.
I kept my audience in mind and it made me want to try different things. Seeing others work often gave me ideas about how I would share information for myself.
There is no difference between my online identity and my offline identity.
I am a pretty quiet person offline. I tend to have a handful of very close friends that I engage with regularly. A couple of my closest friends don't even use social media at all! I am pretty similar online. I do what I need to do, but I don't post frequently. I don't look to find people or have ongoing conversations online much at all.
I think the Internet can be a great tool for teaching and learning. Students are engaged with easy access to information and when this is channeled properly it can lead to valuable experiences.

It made me aware of the wide variety of digital media that are available.
I experimented with different platforms. I also shared some with my students. Some which I have shared with my students include: Storify, Thinglink, Piktochart, Powtoon, Animoto, Prezi, and eMaze.
I enjoyed it mostly for the self-reflective quality. I actually thought a lot of the prompts would be great to use with kids to get them to write.
Most of my challenges involved the use of technology. I've definitely improved, but when trying something new it's never as easy as it seems! If I had more time, I would have been more experimental.
It made me aware of the wide variety of digital media that are available., I use online texts more frequently.
I aimed for variety. I also thought the prompts encouraged self-reflection. Previously I wouldn't have shared some of the information I included in my responses.
There is no difference between my online identity and my offline identity.
I mostly share what's important to me (family, work, interests). I also try to be positive and optimistic online which is how I am in life.
It made me see the variety of ways we can use the internet as text in teaching and learning. As an English teacher, I have changed a lot of my assessments to include options of how kids want to present their learning. They don't always have to write an essay and they love it. (Some still choose to write essays and sometimes it's required, but the element of choice has been great for them and for me.)
It was enjoyable.Master's degreeFemale50 to 59
Digital identity is how people who read my posts perceive me to be. It's also how I want to be seen by others.
As a teacher, I need to make sure that my digital identity is professionally appropriate. Since I don't do much that's wild and crazy I think I'm OK there. As long as I'm professional, I don't think it's very important to my future career.
I will continue to communicate online using a variety of media. Although I may not consciously be trying to build a digital identity, I guess that I will be doing just that!

This was a great opportunity to reflect on who I am, as well as make connections with a variety of other teachers and learners from around the world.
At the beginning of each learning event, I felt a struggle to really understand what was being asked for in the event submission. After some time considering the instructions, I was able to make relevant and meaningful contributions.
It made me aware of the wide variety of digital media that are available., I use online texts more frequently., I think deeply about engaging with digital media.
I have been crafting my digital identity for some time and this has offered me an additional source to define who I am in online spaces
There is no difference between my online identity and my offline identity.
I try to be open with the information I share whether on or offline. I am interested in both education and technology and my identities in both spaces are reflective of that.
I believe that the internet possesses a great value in the realm of education as a source of information of all forms.
I very much enjoyed the project and look forward to participating again in the future.

Digital Identity is the person one presents themselves to be in an online space. People are able to make choices about how they represent themselves in different online spaces and those choices may result in a multitude of digital identities which may only be tangentially related to a persons "real life" identity.
My digital identity is very important to my current and future employment opportunities.
My digital identity will be something I spend a great deal of time crafting and maintaining moving forward.

I shared more personal information than I had previously. I shared personal photos which I had not previously done publicly.
1) one more assignment I had to do
2) something that helped me think of ways that I could keep the spirit of the task while maintaining my safety privacy shield....to share myself but not too much of myself.
1)thinking creatively to complete the tasks
2) many weeks I struggled to learn new tools to complete the tasks, sometimes even having to learn how to use the same tool in two different platforms, like animoto because the android platform that was free would not play without a watermark, so then I tried it on iPad free and it didn't have the watermark. Essentially, I had to do double the work to complete one task.

It increased my understanding of the use of digital media.
I learned about many new ways to share online, through Twitter, Storify, Weebly, Imgur, and ThingLink
I feel like I learned a lot about myself and others, and I had fun while doing it!

*I can learn about others through exploring their online identities
*I can learn about myself through reflection
*We have choices in the doors we open to the outside world and we have choices about what we let inside our own personal doors
*When I think about who I am, I piece together various pieces of myself
*I am unique
*I am learning to live in the moment
*Beauty can be found in many places
*We all come from a different “home” or “totem” and we can always go back to that
*We all are on a walk of our world, though they may be different
*I can dream with my eyes closed and with my eyes opened
*I need to take the time to look at my reflection
*I can accept calls to adventure, conquer my fears, and claim the treasures in life that I seek. And you can too.
*We are all superheroes
*I can connect to many people
*I can use new digital tools to share my story
*I am adding new pieces to my online identity daily
*I can find similarities and differences with people I have never met around the world
*Reading about others’ identities gives me a time to appreciate the thoughts and identities of others
*People can share a common bond through hashtags
*I am proud of the work I did during each learning event, which allowed me to get to know myself better
*I can help create digital literate students in any grade level that I teach, by allowing safe opportunities to explore and share individual identities
*We have opportunities to reflect on our identities daily
*Our many Discourses help to create our personal and online identities, and we can share those with others and learn from them too.

Learning to use new programs was difficult. I was often afraid to experiment. The tutorials and learning through others was very helpful.
It made me aware of the wide variety of digital media that are available., I use online texts more frequently., I think deeply about engaging with digital media.

My online identity is different from my offline identity.
I have realized the way that we can explore and share our offline identities online. However, the difference is that we get to choose what we share to our online identities.
The internet allows us many opportunities to learn and share to an unlimited amount of people. Our students must know the power they have to talk to the world.
Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this project. I really enjoyed it!

It increased my understanding of the use of digital media.
I definitely broadened my horizons in terms of content types - instead of just images, I created and shared videos and websites with others. The frequency at which I shared these increased.
The project provided me a way to explore several different literacy techniques.
Opening myself up online - I was and continue to be apprehensive about sharing personal information in a place where it can never truly disappear.
It made me aware of the wide variety of digital media that are available.
The project was a driving force in creating my online identity. It represented the first time that I shared personal information online, something I was apprehensive about at first.
There is no difference between my online identity and my offline identity.
I find it hard to be someone I'm not. For me, the easiest way to create my online identity was to make it a perfect reflection of my real self.
Improved it - used correctly, the internet is a wonderful educational tool.
I sometimes felt that a learning event was asking me to reflect on something that a previous event had already touched on. A greater variety in learning events would make this project more far-reaching.
Master's degreeMale19 to 29
The person we portray ourselves to be through the web.
Important - as technology continues to become a vital aspect of everyday life, having a positive and well-established digital identity is important to employers, who will look to the internet for reasons to hire or not hire someone.
Undecided - Years of being told not to make yourself easily identifiable through the web still has its hold on me, making me anxious about sharing too much of myself. At the very least, I intend to continue building my website as a tool for my future students.

I used to mainly use social media for funny things and to keep up to date with news. I never really used it professionally or got too deep into my life. Because of Walk My World I have now done that.
At times it was tough to remember to do it, but it actually was fairly introspective and make me think about what I wanted to post and send out to the universe.

It made me aware of the wide variety of digital media that are available.
I have never used Twitter before, so creating a Twitter account was very new.
To be honest, it was just another class assignment. Although, I do realize the significance of it.
Finding time to do the project. Also, finding a creative way to represent myself.
It made me aware of the wide variety of digital media that are available., My use of online texts have not been influenced by my experiences with the project. , I use online texts more frequently., I think deeply about engaging with digital media.
My only online identity that existed prior to this was my Facebook account, therefore my identity was very personal. I am now aware of my online identity needing to represent my professional side.

There is no difference between how I present myself online than I do offline.
It has opened my eyes. I had ideas about text not just being "traditional" text, however, we have learned and talked about so many new types of tools which I am very excited to incorporate into my classroom.
It was a completely different assignment that was pretty cool to be a part of.

Yes! I have become obsessed with Twitter.
It was a great experience to be a part of, but it also showed me ways I can easily incorporate digital literacy into my classroom. Like events that can be done through out the school year that help shape the identity of my students both in the digital and physical worlds.
