BizTownNo new enrollment9 amStudents will learn what it takes to operate a business and even how a whole city of businesses interact with each other. We will make budgets, write checks, use debit cards, earn and deposit a paycheck, keep track of transactions in a check register, learn the benefits of savings accounts, learn the cost of loans and interest, and philanthropy. Students will be taught how to write a resume, interviewing skills, and have an actual job interview. They will receive a job offer and work at that job on the day they attend BizTown, a simulated city, where the students will take all they’ve learned and put it into practice.

We will learn some of the various aspects of belief such as sacred clothing, rites of passage, calendars, moral systems, holidays, and more. Writing & SpellingNo new enrollment2 pmCome explore writing as we use Layers of Learning to enhance our writing skills! We will be going over spelling words each week, and students will have homework to go over those words. I will test their knowledge the following week and there will be a prize box for those that improve their spelling (This isn't a competition to ace it, just encouraging students to practice to improve). There may be some writing homework in this class, and students NEED to bring their notebooks EACH WEEK. This is a 2 semester course that builds on each semester.
