AreaInformation/Duties

TrollSigning people into the event, acquainting with general event information and site rules. There are two lines - onsite and pre-reg.
ONSITE volunteer handles cash & card transations via Square Payment system for event fees, getting people to fill out either paper or digital waivers, handing out event tokens & event shirts, tracking cars with hanging tags, answering general event questions, keeping track of daily attendance numbers.
PRE-REG volunteer handles pre-reg line - checking in those who have pre-registered, ensuring their waiver is filled out, handing out event tokens & event shirts, tracking cars with hanging tags, answering general event questions, keeping track of daily attendance numbers.

ParkingChecking parking areas/ensuring cars are parked appropriately.

Health ServicesHelping people with minor injuries such as dehydration, cuts and scrapes, twisted ankles, and similar. Leads must have some form of First-Aid certification and must contact Sir Berenor (David Vest on Facebook) for approval. If your shift is after fighting hours, please check in with Sir Berenor during fighting hours so he can give you an orientation.

SecurityWalking to and into camps, interacting with people and camps to get a general feel of things, and making sure people are being safe throughout the night. Some conflict resolution may pop up, but there will always be either the Head or Shadow for Security available to you. You will work in groups, so you can bring a friend or meet one.

Weapons CheckWorks to check all fighting gear, including armor for safety standards as outlined in the Book of War. If you are interested in helping but are new, please let us know and we can teach you.

Arrow CheckWorks to check all arrows, bolts, crossbow and standard bows for saftey as outlined by the Book of War. This will include backing for arrows, shooting arrows, draw testing, and general arrow build saftey. Volunteers will check arrows in an assembly-line format as needed. If you are new to arrow check, this is a great opportunity to learn and practice. Arrows will be checked for length, shaft health, fletching numbers and health, pristine nock, and boffer head dimensions and safety. Bows will be checked for compliance and poundage. ALL BOWS MUST ARRIVE STRUNG TO CHECK OR WILL AUTOMATICALLY FAIL.

Field CombatMarshalling. If you are not comfortable with actively Marshalling (i.e. watching combat for unsafe or unsavory activities), we will always have a need for Respawn Points, Counters for Death Tax games, or hard edge Marshalls. We can teach you.

Hydration StationPick up coolers from general store at start of first shift. Fill coolers. Check the Hydration station coolers for water and Gatorade levels. Refill Water and Gatorade as needed. Make sure the area is clean. Wipe down area with cleaing wipe. Empty and clean out coolers at end of last shift before returning the coolers to the General Store for overnight storage.

A&STo watch over the gallery (the barn) to make sure that people are not messing with entries. People can read the submission sheet but can not pick up/touch entries.

Combat TournamentsMarshalling. You must be comfortable with active Marshalling as tournament fighting moves quickly.
