2NGC 0253 047.6-25178Glxy 25.0' Scl 7/19/20124:20 a.m. CDTBroemmelsiek Park7/411x80 handNo moon in the sky, but a good lightning display to the northwest. No thunder yet. Even at 4 in the morning the sky wasn't really dark. Only Fomalhaut and Diphda were really naked eye in the area. The galaxy was an easy two FOV star hop south and slightly west from Diphda at the chosen time. It was a very dim patch that was visible with averted vision. Difficult to see unless you knew exactly where to look.
