INTERN SUPPORT HOURS DOCUMENTATION INFORMATION AND FORM
4
5
Overview:
6
The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) requires that each intern receive 144 hours of professional support per year, or 72 hours per semester to ensure that interns are receiving the appropriate amount and type of support as they participate in the internship program. Interns who are not authorized to teach English Learners (EL) or have not completed LEE157 for single subjects or LEE172 for multiple subjects/SPED courses are required to have an additional 45 hours of EL support per year, or 23 hours per semester until the coursework or authorization is completed. Support hours come from a combination of time spent with the Intern’s, Cooperating Teacher at the school site and University Coach.
7
8
As a requirement of the Fresno State Teacher Internship Program (TIP), each intern will document the number of hours of support received from different individuals assigned as support through the internship and credential program(s). It is your responsibility as the intern to make sure that support hours are recorded appropriately and to contact the appropriate person if time requirements are not being met. For additional information about internship support requirements, see CCTC Coded Correspondence 14-04: http://www.ctc.ca.gov/notices/coded/2014/1404.pdf
