Acton-Boxborough Youth SoccerCoach/Assistant Coach1 practice slot per week that you can choose the day of as well as one game per weekend on Saturday mornings (for girls teams) OR afternoons (for boys teams)ABYS is looking for HS soccer coaches for various ages - you can coach with a friend and run your own team or you can assist a current coach. Maybe it would be fun to coach with a parent. Depending on the division, the dates vary with practice during the week and games on the weekend.A little about the role and the expectations:
Depending on the division, there will be 1 game and 1 practice each week. Practice agendas/curricula for each practice are available from Mitch Doherty, Director of Coaching for ABYS. This is a fantastic resource and means that you, as coaches and assistants do not have to invent practice activities. It is your responsibility to run a practice but ABYS has made full programs available for you to take and use. Also, the PDCs (Professional Coaches) can be scheduled to assist you at practices as well.

Boston Area GleanersVolunteer GleanerGleaning and other volunteer opportunities happen Wednesdays through Saturdays during the season (June through November, with some sporadic opportunities during the winter). There are usually two volunteer shifts per day happening at farms across eastern MA. Times vary, but most often the first shift starts 9am-12pm, and the second from 1pm-4pm. Volunteers will help us harvest, sort, and pack surplus food from local farms for distribution to local food banks, pantries, and meal programs. No experience is necessary—only a willingness and ability to lend a hand in physical, active work. To get started, students can create a volunteer account on our website. Once they have an account, they can sign up for any shift that we post on our opportunity list that fits their schedule. That list is updated weekly, and they will receive an email alert each week as new opportunities come up. Dress for active work; long pants and closed toed shoes are required. Bring water to stay hydrated. The minimum age to volunteer is 13. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. If high-school-aged volunteers wish to volunteer independently without a guardian present they may do so only if they submit a signed Minor Volunteer Waiver (picture or scan), which can be found on our website, to outreach@bostonareagleaners.org.91 Martin St, Acton, MA (different locations for different farms)Alyssa CiolfiCommunications and Outreach Manageralyssa@bostonareagleaners.org781-819-0116https://www.bostonareagleaners.org/Ongoing
