Remote Learning: Online Tool Organizer
3
What is this organizer?
4
It's a list of online tools generated by teachers using OpenSciEd and inquiryHub materials in their classrooms and ties the tools to their use within the storyline instructional model. It was generated as a part of the Staying Grounded when Teaching Remote webinar series (https://www.openscied.org/remote-teaching/) that focused on how to use the storyline instructional when teaching remote. It is still being revised, but is being shared now so that a broader group of educators can help us make it even better.
5
How can I sort the columns?
6
There are two ways to make this happen:

1. The simplest way is to have the Virtual Tool Organizer tab open, drop down the Data menu, then hover over "Filter Views" and select either "Routine sort" or "App sort" and the data will be sorted accordingly. In this way, you can keep using the online document as it is updated over time.

2. The second option is to just copy the file to your own google drive and then you can sort, edit, and filter to your heart's delight.
7
How can I correct an error, or add an additional resource/use to this spreadsheet?
8
To correct an error, complete an unfinished row, to add a new platform, or a new way to use a platform in the storyline instructional model, just fill out the following google form: (https://bit.ly/RemoteToolOrg). Updates to the document will be made approximately once a week through May 2020 and then monthly after that.
9
How can I find out more about the storyline instructional model and how these digital platforms can be used in remote teaching?
10
Resources on the storyline instructional model used by OpenSciEd can be found at https://www.openscied.org/openscied-instructional-model/ and more resources for remote teaching can be found at https://www.openscied.org/remote-teaching/
11
What about remote learning without technology?
12
There are lots of ideas about supporting learning with a storyline instructional model without technology included in the remote teaching resources posted at https://www.openscied.org/remote-teaching/
