6	These spreadsheets provide the number of votes casts in state primaries for each candidate, through July 18, 2016, as well as the reported number of votes in state caucuses.

8	The sheets with "all" provide the number of votes for candidates in both major parties in a primary or caucus, including those who have dropped out of the presidential race. These latter votes are referred to as "wasted votes",

10	The "primaries" and "caucuses" spreadsheets only report votes cast in those respective contests.

12	The "Withdrawal Dates" sheet gives the dates when candidates withdrew from the presidential contest as well as sources for that date. Withdrawal dates were used to calculate "wasted votes" cast for those candidates after they withdrew

14	The "Primary Turnout Sheet" provides information on primary turnout using the Voting Eligible Population (VEP) and the Voting Age Population for each state and total number of ballots cast. The VEP data is sourced to United Staes Election Project, http://www.electproject.org
