Octavia Butler's "Bloodchild" explores the topic of Pregnancy by expanding the role of host or life carrier to both men and women as well as calling into question the common ideas and themes that correspond with being pregnant. Butler calls into question topics such as loyalty, consent and respect for oneself and your partner. yes--the phrasing needs to be tightened, etc.

In the short story "Bloodchild," Octavia Butler dramatizes the impulsive struggle of the main protagonist - Gian, and the way of passive rebel which his mother choose to protest against the supremacy of Tlic race.interesting!! phrasing needs work

Butler's unsettling portrayal of the symbiotic relationship between the human Terrans and alien Tlic demonstrate how the need for compromise is necessary for coexistence. not bad. maybe twek the phrasing a bit

The uneven exchange in Octavia Butler's "Bloodchild" highlights the power struggle between the two species and how much sacrifice is needed for survival.first part is descriptive but okay, second part gets interesting

"Bloodchild" insinuates that interspecies conflict between the TLIC and Humans mirror many intra human conflicts of the past and present, good start but general--like what?

Octavia Butler draws on her heritage to question and draw universal parallels in human relationships, as in creating master and slave, parent child, and state and individual. what do you mean, "her heritage"?

Octavia Butler challenges the reader to really think about the important role that pregnancy has on "Bloodchild," and how it it can prove that what Gan felt was not love, but it was a compromise.okay

The pregnant body from the "Blood Child" short story makes me question a lot of things and one of them is love. Does bearing someones child really means its love? You can always choose to terminate the unborn child. good use of the question technique...

The group relationship aspect of "Blood Child" shows that the humans who live on the same planet as the Tlics have there own preserves they live in and, the postion the Tlics have on there planet is greater then the humans. People might compare this to when the Europeans had invaded the Native American home land, but that is not the same scenario. The Tlics still own there planet and the humans are used to help the Tlics race continuetighten it up

Butler showcases a view on an alien male's pregnancy and how it relates to present day society views. descriptive

9/16/2016 15:43:58nathjavButler explains that even though Gan felt some respect and compromise for T'Gatoi, he did not want to help her giving birth because of the pain that he was seeing in the man suffering. He realized that he won't want be part of that process.

Bloodchild complicates the meaning of consent. It makes the reader question whether or not the humans of the planet are completely forced into being hosts or if they are okay with it in order to keep their place on earth. Not bad.

In Butler's "Bloodchild," she implies that the impregnation of Gan is a symbol of love. However, I am going to prove that Gan, although he believes that he gave his consent, was actually raped.forceful and clear; she says so in her Afterword, no?

In "Bloodchild," Butler establishes a relationship between T'Gatoi and Gan as a love story. I am going to prove that this isn't the case, and that this relationship is a form of slavery.sure--now make it sexy

Butler challenges the true meaning of love because in "bloodchild" the pregnancy was not an act of love it was more a compromise.interesting

In the short story "Blood Child" Octavia Butler creates a fictional story, in which she changes the position in bearing children from woman to man. What makes this story interesting is that she recreates what is normal in reality, which is that only women can give birth to children not men.descriptive (needs the why); repetitive

In "Bloodchild," Butler describes where the Terran live as a Preserve. I am going to prove that the "Preserve" is actually a sexual slavery compound.whoa--interesting

Throughout Blooodchild it shows the relationships between the humans and the Tlics. Humans are portrayed as the lower species which is unusual in most stories. a good start...

So suddenly just because a guy is forcefully asked to be pregnant, everyone responds and shocked and talking in favor of humankind, while this happens to woman everyday all around the world, and nobody cares?funny! :-) more the intro to a paper than its thesis--what would you like to argue?

Octavia Bulter raises questions of group relations in "Bloodchild" which can be interpreted by multiple ethnic groups. By requiring the Terran justify their right to live on the Preserve by becoming hosts for the Tlic young as well as imposing rules for life on the preserve, Butler causes you to explore examples of ebb and flow of power struggles among different human groups throughout history. Wordy; abstract; vague. We need to work on the style

Octavia Butler emphasizes that "Bloodchild" is a love story between a human being and another species, I can argue that their relationship was of symbiosis instead.a good start; watch out for comma splices
