1 | **PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE BOX FIRST** When selecting classes for the STEP minor, the following should be taken into account: 1. Students must select and successfully complete three (3) electives (total of five [5] courses for the minor, including ENES240 and ENES440/ENES401). Students must finish ENES240 with at least a B-. Students must complete ENES240 and their three (3) chosen electives (in no particular order) before taking ENES440/ENES401, which means that ENES240 and ENES440/401 cannot be taken concurrently. 2. Students must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA to apply to the minor. 3. Students MUST take ENES440 (or ENES401 if you're in the Sustainability, Social Responsibility, and Design [SSRD] concentration) as the last course in the minor (i.e., fifth) or concurrently with their third and FINAL elective. Exceptions are permitted on a case by case basis (must email STEP advisor for approval). 4. Students in the SSRD concentration must take at least 2/3 electives in the SSRD category. Students in SSRD also take a different capstone class, ENES401. All other students take ENES440. 5. Students are permitted one (1) elective at the 100 or 200 level. 6. Students must take at least two (2) electives at the 300 or 400 level. 7. Up to two (2) electives can count towards a student's major and the STEP minor. 8. If applicable, students with STEP and a second (or third) minor cannot use any courses toward both minor requirements (i.e., if both minors list Class X as an elective counting for the minor's completion, students can only use Class X for one of the two minors, not both). 9. Not all approved electives are open to all students. Students should verify their ability to enroll in specific courses and seek permission from course instructors for enrollment whenever appropriate. 10. Not all courses are offered every semester. | ||||||||
