Hannah TellierSocial Media Lead & Core Team OrganizerFridays For Future OttawaEnglish/FrenchFor too long, the oil and gas industry has blamed ordinary Canadians for causing climate change. We’ve been told to recycle, carpool, and reduce our carbon footprint – all while fossil fuel industry actors lie and rake in record profits. So now we're taking aim at the root of the problem, the institutions and industries that produce the most emissions and drag their feet on meaningful action: Canada’s Climate Culprits! Our demands are simple. All levels of government and industry must stop funding, supporting, and enabling fossil fuels, and follow through with their climate commitments.tellierhannah@gmail.com519-240-5889

Chris GusenSenior Digital & Communications Specialist350 CanadaEnglish After another summer of devastating climate impacts, it’s clearer than ever that we need immediate action to phase out the fossil fuel industry and enact real solutions rooted in climate justice. By taking the climate strike directly to a federal government that continues to enable the climate crisis through its inaction, we’re demanding bold and ambitious action now!canada.media@350.org613-305-9795

Larry Dobson350 OttawaEnglishWe don’t have the power of money and the position that the fossil industry has. Only by working together can we slow the relentless march of climate breakdown that we now sit back and moan about. To battle and win, our strength will lie in numbers. As individuals, if financially able, we must do our part with EVs, heat pumps, solar power, and our investments. But better still, we must join with others. To quote Helen Keller, “Alone we can do so little; together, we can do so much.” The solutions needed for the climate crisis are as far-reaching as the crisis itself. If your interest is in transportation, join an EV club. If it’s in agriculture, join the horticulture society. If it’s in social action, join an environmental group or political party. In every activity, press the need to cut the use of fossil fuels and demand a shift to the use of renewable energy. Taking action is the key to realizing our hopes. If we all act with others where we can, and move away from our fossil fuel past, we will overpower the industries that are locking us out of a better future for ourselves and our children.

Chantal PelletierDecolonial Solidarity Gatineau OttawaEnglish/FrenchWe have a responsibility to support Indigenous land defenders, who are protecting the land and water we all depend on, by speaking out against fossil fuel extraction projects and demanding that all levels of government and industry stop funding fossil fuels.

Dr Marianne Ariganello (PhD)For Our Kids Ottawa-GatineauEnglishThe fight for a livable climate should never rest on the shoulders of our children. We proudly stand beside and will march with all youth concerned about the planet they are inheriting from us. We will amplify their voices and let them know that they are not alone. Together we will actively call out those organizations that are causing the greatest harm to our planet and are threatening the lives of this generation and all future generations. We know who are the climate culprits and it is past time for them to take ownership of their role in this climate crisis. We will no longer believe their lies and greenwashing or fall for their carbon footprint guilt trips. We will demand that they take appropiate action to solve and mitigate the effects of this climate chaos that they caused.

Mwangala MatakalaCampaignerOxfam CanadaEnglishBig fossil fuel corporations continue to pollute the planet without restraint – making bumper profits, paying little tax and using their influence to rig the system in their favour. While the richest plunder and profit, everyone else is left paying the price, from families fleeing wildfires in Jasper to communities gripped by unprecedented droughts in Southern Africa. Canada must make rich polluters pay up and scale up its investments in real climate solutions that protect people and the planet.mwangala.matakala@oxfam.org613 981 0176

Rolly MontpellierSeniors For ClimateEnglish/FrenchWe can’t solve the climate crisis by burning more fossil fuels. We’re burning more fossil fuels today than we were last year and the year before that. We need a cap on emissions now. Later is too late!
