This Spreadsheet is designed to aid in the sceduling of a Squad Format Bike Polo Tournament. All of the variables designed to be changed are highlighted in green(all other cells are to be left untouched) resultants are coloured yellow and orange, and statistics are in grey. This document assumes that you understand how a Round Robin works. If you need clarification on this please visit the wikipedia link below.

Round Robin Tournament CalculatorThis tab allows you to determin number of teams and game length based on your available courts and playing time. This Tab is meant for use in a 2 day event with day two being reserved for the Elimination Phase.

Final Day CalculatorThis tab allows you to determine how many teams you can allow into the Elimination Phase on the Final day of an Event. Please read note in red to understand the subtleties of dropping from several courts to one throughout the Elimination phase

Information that may be manipulated in this spreadsheet are as follows

Number of GroupsThis is the way you will divide teams up for various sessions throughout the day (ie: Morning/Afternoon)

Number of Teams per GroupThis is how many teams will take part in each of the above Groups (This is not the total number of teams participating)

Number of CourtsThis is how many courts you will use for the Round Robin

Number of Round Robin DaysThis is how many days you require before an elimination phase (2 day tournament generally has one of these. You may choose to play round robin for 1.5 ddays and have 1/2 day for elimination)

Game length (min)You may adjust your desired game length to see how long it will take to complete a desired arrangement

Court time available (hrs)You may in turn adjust your desired playing time throughout a day and it will generate an acceptable game length.

All groups are Round Robin not Swiss

All Teams are comprised of 5 players

All Game lengths are running time and there is a 10 minute assumed change over time calculated into the spreadsheet

The Final day is a Single Elimination Bracket including a third place match

Tournament Statistics

Total Number of TeamsThis is the total number of team involved with the arrangement you have selected

Games per GroupThis is the total number of games required to complete one group

Total GamesThis is the total number of games required to complete the chosen arrangement

Time Between GamesThis is a fixed value set to 10 minutes for stopages and change over between each match. This value does not change as game length goes up. All games are assumed to have a running clock until the last 2-5 minutes as desired by the organiser.

Games per TeamThis is the number of games each team will play during the Round Robin Phase

Total Number of PlayersThis is the total number of participants in your event bassed on the arrangement you have selected. Teams are assumed to be 5 players
