San Jose Obon: Saturday July 12th 12:00-10:00 and Sunday July 13th 12:00-9:00. Here is the volunteer sign up sheet for the amazing SJ Japanese Obon Festival. Above are the slots for each shift. The exact location where all volunteers should meet is
SJ Buddhist Church, 640 N 5th St, San Jose, CA 95112.
If you have signed up to be a volunteer, please plan to arrive 15 minutes before your shift and go to the cement wall in front of the garden (to the right of the temple) where one of the JSU officers will meet you and direct you to your job. You can earn 3 - 10 service hours depending on how long you wish to volunteer at the event. You may sign up for more than on shift if you choose! The festival committee wants to interate that they want you to enjoy the festival... EAT and PLAY and if you happen to see garbage on the ground take care of it. But first and foremost, enjoy the time there!

****Please read this information to have an idea of what you will be doing during each shift as well as what we are looking for right now.

Garbage/recycling : (nice way to see the whole festival, sweep garbage on the ground as they see it, take out/reline any garbage/recycle that’s full. Teams of 2 and we need 2 teams each shift. The last slot on Sunday will also do Deconstruction tasks TBD.
