1Baba is YouPC201912/15/2021Yesbrain is melt
3
2Final Fantasy X-2 (HD Remaster)PC2003/201612/19/20211/2/202215YesWhat if 2003 were a weirdly horny video game?
Like with FFX, I skipped a lot of the sidequest/minigame content because it generally controls poorly, needs to be done perfectly, and gives overpowered rewards that are unnecessary.
Dark Knight/Dark Knight/Alchemist were my chosen jobs from acquisition through the end of the game. Darkness + Mega Potion go brrr
4
3Cyberpunk 2077PC20201/2/20221/9/20228NoPlayed obsessively over a week off from work. Something about the moment-to-moment gameplay just hits me right, tons of fun. Some DLC would be great.
Started another playthrough on 1.5 on new PC (stealth/blades build), different experience getting 60+ FPS with ray tracing so it looks and plays real smooth, plus the 1.5 QoL updates don't hurt either. Threw in a few mods too.
5
4Hollow KnightPC20171/10/20221/13/20224NoHey, this game is full of bugs! (fundo hundo, true end)
Also a "speed" playthrough for the Speedrun achievements.
6
5Okami HDPC2006/20121/14/2022YesDidn't grab me like I hoped it would. Shame because it's obviously well-made, looks great.
7
6Guacamelee! STCEPC20131/24/20221/25/20222NoJohn Avocado punches Carl Skull. World saved. What do you mean a new Drinkbox game came out
8
7Slay the SpirePC20191/25/202211/17/2022297YesDifferent from other roguelikes (thinking Hades, Isaac, etc) because while skill can help overcome some of the randomness you can't outplay everything. Skill floor is higher than I'm used to. Many breaks were taken.
Completed a run with each character. Probably continue playing.
9
8Guacamelee 2PC20181/25/20221/26/20222NoMore punch and kick and Mexipuns. Completed Proving Grounds for the first time.
10
9Pokemon Legends ArceusSwitch20221/28/20222/3/20227YesMajor improvements on the Pokemon formula while still being very recognizable as Pokemon. I hope they continue in this direction (either in place of or along side the more traditional Pokemon experience). Completed the Pokedex for the first time since Red/Blue (where I had access to both games and two Game Boys).
11
10Mass Effect (Legendary)PC20212/9/20222/18/202210Nolol
Engineer and Infiltrator playthroughs
12
11Mass Effect 2 (Legendary)PC20212/9/20222/18/202210No(Initially had these on one row but separated to statpad)
13
12Mass Effect 3 (Legendary)PC20212/9/20222/18/202210NoAny time there's a break in between games in this 2022 list just assume I was playing MELE.
14
13DishonoredPC20122/19/20222/21/20223YesFun game. Playing for full stealth/no kills makes it a puzzle platformer (killed fewer than 10 enemies the whole game, all inadvertent). Story was nothing to write home about.
DLC was more of the same, which is not a complaint because I enjoyed the base game.
15
14Dishonored 2PC20162/26/20223/4/20227YesFeels like it's dragging more than 1. Maybe that's just because I quicksave/quickload a lot and loading takes a long time.
Overall didn't care for this as much as 1, mostly a bunch of little things adding up. Still alright though.
16
15Dragon Age: OriginsPC20093/4/20223/12/20229YesI guess I'm just less interested in fantasy lore than sci-fi lore cause I've had very little interest in doing sidequests and actually finding out what's going on between the combat (which is a lot of fun), compared to that other BioWare RPG trilogy that I've played a couple times. Feels like there's a lot of backtracking to do sidequests and it's a slog to do so.
Shoutouts to Alistair and Wynne for carrying the team.
17
16Final Fantasy VI (Pixel Remaster)PC1994/20223/13/2022NoGot partway through the game, then got a new PC and elected to play other games. Should go back at some point and finish, I rarely finish FF6 playthroughs.
18
17TUNICPC20223/16/2022YesCould not get into this which sucks because everyone who could seemed to love it. I ended up just getting mad instead.
19
18Dragon Age IIPC20113/20/20224/1/202213YesLiked the pacing better than DAO, didn't like how every fight (especially in Act 3) was just against a hundred damage-spongey enemies. Finished the game on easy difficulty and having granted myself a ton of extra XP just to bump up my attack stats. I had fun though.
20
19Kirby and the Forgotten LandSwitch20223/25/20223/27/20223YesTons of fun. Kirby is cute. Basically Mario 3D World but Kirby. Two main gripes:
1. Would have loved to be able to exit already-completed levels and keep progress if I needed to go back in to get a Waddle Dee or Soul that I missed, instead of having to finish the level.
2. Gachapon is just not fun to me. I had fewer than half of the 256 figurines when that was all I had left to do to achieve 100%, so I just spent 30+ minutes pressing A until the right things came out of the machine. Thankfully the game does seem to put a high priority on figurines you don't have so this didn't take super long; still annoying.
21
20Final Fantasy VII Remake IntergradePC2020/20214/1/2022NoReplay of original, took break after platefall. Intend to return to finish and do Yuffie intermission.
22
21La-Mulana (remake)PC20124/4/20224/9/20226YesGave this game multiple attempts in the past, usually leading to me being absolutely stumped and giving up about 4 guardians in (where the game goes from tricky to obtuse, imo). Finally decided I wanted to know what the deal was so I looked stuff up. I don't mind "cheating" in games with obtuse puzzle solutions because I know that kind of gaming just isn't for me. I still had a lot of fun. Probably play La-Mulana 2 in the future.
23
22ControlPC20194/14/20224/19/20226NoIt's a good game. I really should try out some other games in the Alan Wake-iverse.
24
23La-Mulana 2PC20184/17/2022YesPlayed a decent amount, took copious notes, dropped it due to burnout. Might try again in the future.
25
24Fallout 4PC20154/20/2022NoThinking about playing Fallout 4: vault_boy_thumbs_up.png
Playing Fallout 4: vault_boy_shrug.gif
It's not bad, I just tend to get bored and not see the story through to the end.
26
25Fallout: New VegasPC20105/10/20225/18/20229NoWhat a good game. Did all DLCs before talking to House or Benny, just to be different. NCR victory because I didn't have that achievement.
27
26ElecHeadPC20215/20/20225/20/20221YesFun little puzzle platformer. Didn't overstay its welcome, made good use of the mechanics.
28
27SablePC20215/21/20225/22/20222YesLove the open world exploration. World wasn't too crowded or too empty. Felt like Breath of the Wild without combat. Needs technical optimization, but other than that it was great.
Also the soundtrack was excellent and has caused me to listen to a lot of Japanese Breakfast since I finished playing.
29
28The PathlessPC20215/27/20225/28/20222YesGot the good ending. The boss fights are boss fights - rarely my favorite part of video games, but at least these had checkpoints. Final fight was the least frustrating which is good and bad. Liked the rest of the game - little puzzles to get the collectible macguffins, exploring the world, flying around with the eagle, petting the eagle. Love that eagle.
30
29Fallout 3PC20085/28/2022NoWeird to go from playing NV to playing this. For what it's worth, I do really like the world even if the story and gameplay leave a lot to be desired, especially in comparison to New Vegas.
31
30Star Wars Jedi: Fallen OrderPC20195/30/2022YesJust don't think this is for me. Combat is between meh and frustrating, exploration is frustrating, characters are BORING (except BD-1).
32
31GrimePC20216/1/2022YesGood take on the Souls style that I actually didn't hate. Think only being 2D helps this a lot. Still probably a bit too hard for me - I'll struggle to get through a boss fight, only for it to have a 2nd phase. Super punishing boss combat still ain't for me and never will be.
33
32Dragon Age InquisitionPC20146/3/20226/19/202217YesUnpopular opinion: my personal favorite of the (for now) trilogy, gameplay-wise. Open world areas with lots of little stuff to collect? Sign me up. Oh and I guess there was a story too, defeat the bad guy, whatever. Looking forward to the next one.
Finished DLCs on 6/24. DLC enemies got a bit damage-spongy for my tastes. Stop doing that, Dragon Age.
34
33DOOM (2016)PC20166/25/20226/26/20222YesAfter spending 3+ weeks playing an RPG this was super refreshing - fast paced, combat focused, very little story to speak of. I probably died as much to falling off ledges as combat (played on "Hurt Me Plenty" (Normal) difficulty and that was good for me). I ripped, I tore, I had a blast.
35
34Haiku, The RobotPC20226/27/20226/29/20223YesMetroidvania
Hollow Knight with cute robots
I liked this a lot
36
35Ghostwire: TokyoPC20226/27/20227/10/202214YesFun gameplay, depressing story. Getting the Tanuki Suit added some much-needed levity to the cutscenes. Game was very clearly designed for consoles first because the default KB/M controls are for aliens. Really had no idea what the game was about when I started except "open world RPG". Not bad, but probably won't play again.
37
36Turnip Boy Commits Tax EvasionPC20206/30/20227/1/20222YesRiveting gameplay, deep lore, raging against the machine. 10/10
38
37Yakuza: Like a DragonPC20207/10/20227/24/202215YesStarring Ichiban Kasuga as the Yakuza Lad
If the Yakuza series continues with the JRPG combat instead of the beat-em-up combat, they'll all be day one buys for me. Unrealistic ending to the story with a politician getting punished for something he was recorded saying. Why Nanba run like that
39
38Super Mario OdysseySwitch20177/31/20228/5/20226NoCasual All Moons
40
39BioshockPC20078/2/20228/12/202211NoStill a very good game. How Bioshocking
41
40Pokemon ShieldSwitch20198/8/20228/21/202214NoTeam: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FatN5zOUsAIkTE1?format=jpg
Replay before Scarlet later this year. Dropping starter (Scorbunny) was the best decision I could have made, Salazzle was so much better (caught in Isle of Armor). Also had a Hatterene for a little while but dumped it for Alcremie for speed reasons. Pokemon is fun.
42
41Shadow of the Tomb RaiderPC20188/12/20228/17/20226YesStory was eh, gameplay was good (albeit glitchy and clumsy in some places). Voice acting was just real bad, especially Lara. Controls were weird (i.e. designed for controllers and mapped to KB/M as an afterthought) - E to interact except when it's F, C to descend except when it's L-Ctrl, the map just not wanting to be click/dragged, stuff like that. Raiding tombs is always my favorite part of Tomb Raider games, so did all the DLC tombs in addition to 100%ing the main game.
43
42God of WarPC20188/18/20228/25/20228YesMore like Good of War
Atreyu reminds me a lot of Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite, though she was more helpful. Difficulty was kinda high at the beginning but got better as I got more skills and better equipment (when I remembered to use the skills anyway). Side content all combat, not finishing that. I'll play the next one when it comes to PC in 5 years
44
43Mass Effect: AndromedaPC20178/25/20229/3/202210NoYou can really see the ideas behind this. It's ME1 exploration with almost-ME3 combat which in theory is perfect, though obviously the execution was fumbled. I still like it a lot even though the story/characters aren't as good as the original trilogy. QoL mods help a lot. Wish you could use more than 3 powers at once - Sentinel in the OT was never what I wanted out of a biotic/tech combo (I want biotic incapacitation i.e. Pull/Singularity combined with Incinerate/Overload) and ME:A almost gets there but not enough. Incinerate/Overload/Pull with a sniper rifle is pretty fun though.
45
44Immortals: Fenyx RisingPC20209/3/20229/11/20229YesUbisoft Breath of the Wild but make it Greek. Luckily, I like AC Odyssey and BoTW, and I enjoyed this combination of the two.
46
45Assassin's Creed OdysseyPC20189/11/20229/25/202215NoI like it because it's Ancient Greece and the gameplay loop is fun. Definitely way too much to do and I did most of it (in Greece) on this playthrough. Intend to come back for a replay of the DLCs but for now I require a break.
47
46Castlevania: Symphony of the NightPSX19979/30/202210/2/20223NoI'm interested in this.
Casual replay, no save data on this PC so new game playthrough with all the cutscenes and no duplicator. Also tried to not cheese the game and I held through with that ideal through the first castle, but Shield Rod/Alucard Shield is too satisfying.
48
47The Elder Scrolls V: SkyrimPC201110/4/2022NoNo intentions of finishing this playthrough of Todd's Wacky Nordic Adventure but it's a fun/comfy cold-weather game.
Ended up with a game state that crashes when I get near Solitude (Katla's Farm, etc). It just works. (It was heavily modded so lasting as long as it did was a feat in and of itself.)
49
48Manifold GardenPC201910/15/202210/15/20221YesJust the right difficulty/obtuseness for a puzzle game for me. Only got wander-around-what-the-heck-do-I-do stuck once or twice which I'm ok with. Fun game too, mechanics were good and I picked up most of them right away.
50
49CloudpunkPC202010/16/202210/19/20224YesFun walking/driving sim with an engaging story. Love the a e s t h e t i c
51
50Persona 5 RoyalPC202010/21/202211/6/202217YesPre-play notes: Was in the same room for a lot of my wife's playthrough when this came out in 2020, so going in I know the major story beats but very little of the story details, and almost none of the gameplay details. Never played a Persona or SMT game before but supposedly they're good?
Update: it's very good. DLC accessories and personas are OP. Thought I didn't really like JRPGs that much, turns out I probably just don't like Final Fantasy games. Gonna eventually NG+ this, play P4G, maybe P3, SMTs? But right now, need to play something else.
52
51The Haunted Island, a Frog Detective GamePC201811/7/202211/7/20221YesIncredible.
53
52Frog Detective 2: The Case of the Invisible WizardPC201911/7/202211/7/20221YesMasterpiece.
54
53Frog Detective 3: Corruption at Cowboy CountyPC202211/7/202211/7/20221YesGOTY
55
54SuperliminalPC201911/7/202211/7/20221YesPortal but weird perspective things. I liked it. I got the dog ending and the regular ending.
56
55Persona 5 StrikersPC202111/8/202211/15/20228YesCanonName Persona gets to spend more time with his friends! Easy difficulty to make sure I finish before Pokemon comes out. First time playing a Warriors-style game, was pretty fun.
57
56Pokemon ScarletSwitch202211/18/202211/21/20224YesTeam: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FiI9K86aMAAf84G?format=jpg
Super fun but riddled with all the issues. Stories were actually interesting? Would love Pokemon to continue in this direction. All the new mons are very good. Paused after postgame tournament, may return or might wait until the inevitable DLC.
58
57A Plague Tale: InnocencePC201911/22/202211/25/20224YesStealth sections were good, "combat" sections were terrible. Games should use the same mechanics in regular gameplay and boss fights. I'll play the sequel but not for a while - need to cool off from this first. Made me wanna replay Dishonored.
59
58FirewatchPC201611/25/202211/26/20222YesGood walking sim. Story kept me interested to the end which I guess is the point.
60
59Star Wars: Knights of the Old RepublicPC200311/26/202211/29/20224YesCommander Shepard is back! In Jedi form!
This was pretty fun once I got the hang of it. The plot twist reveal would have been way cooler if I didn't see it everywhere on the internet while trying to learn game mechanics.
Light side Soldier/Guardian. Dual sabers/Master speed/Flurry melts lots of things.
61
60Star Wars: KOTOR II: The Sith LordsPC200411/30/202212/5/20226YesWeird combination of unfinished (story) and parts that dragged on way too long (Prologue->Peragus->Citadel Station opening, fucking Nar Shaddaa). Overall it was still good but the first game was better. Game crash boss was the hardest boss.
62
61Lenna's InceptionPC202012/6/202212/7/20222Yes50 game milestone reached!
This was fun. Started out as a Zelda but got creative towards the end. May replay in the future to get the best ending now that I know there are multiple endings.
63
62Pokemon CrystalGBC200112/7/202212/16/202210NoTechnically don't think I've ever finished a Crystal playthrough but I've played Gen 2 a bunch of times. Just wanted an easy game to chill with. Totodile best starter.
Full odds shiny Gastly and Tangela, lmao. Getting the Gastly made me figure out emulator trading so that was cool.
Team that beat Red was Feraligatr, Gengar, Scyther (MVP thanks to Swords Dance), Donphan, Alakazam, Raikou.
64
63Jade EmpirePC200512/16/2022YesI intend to go back to this. I was enjoying it but decided to play Pokemon and then I got sick.
65
64Pokemon Black 2DS201212/17/202212/23/20227YesCan't remember how far I've gotten in BW2 in the past but never beaten it (have beaten BW).
Fun game. It's certainly Pokemon.
Samurott, Leavanny, Gothitelle, Flygon, Darmanitan, Vanilluxe. Mod to remove all HMs from older Pokemon gens when
66
65Pokemon Ultra Moon3DS201712/26/202212/29/20224YesI got sick for Christmas so I'm playing more Pokemon.
Same deal as B2: have finished SuMo, have started but not completed USUM.
Gen 7 is a lot of fun when you play it on emulator at 200% speed. Ultra Necrozma was something else. Ultra Warp Ride was harder than Ultra Necrozma.

67
66Quest 64N64199812/30/202212/30/20221NoMaybe next time I'll use something other than Water/Earth. I've heard Wind is pretty good.
