26 | Introduction to your SIP/ School Profile (appoximately 100 words) | Evergreen Elementary is a green school serving approximately 730 students. By promoting a culture of consistency, we earned a 4-star rating by MSDE in the 2023-2024 school year and maintained an average daily attendance rate of 93.8%. This is reflective of our committment to build a school community that is growth oriented. Our student population includes the following representations: Asian-4.9%; Hispanic-11.48%; African American-13.25%; Two or More-8.33% and White 61.%; Additionally, students with disabilities-7.5% , English Language Learners-3.01% and economically disadvantaged-23.55%. Evergreen is the home to many military families. Evergreen students consistently work hard to perform at or above the SMCPS average on both formative and summative measures of academic achievement. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

28 | Your School's Key Strengths (approximately 50 words) | Evergreen has 77 qualified staff members, an active PTO and several community partners. All stateholders value collaboration, team decision-making and celebrating students daily and at monthly "Community Gatherings". When students leave our school, they are proficient, competent readers due to our strong literacy instruction targeting our youngest learners. By providing opportunities in enrichment, differentiation, and interventions we consistently meet rigorous curriculum standards with the use of vetted instructional resources and a variety of supplemental tools for student engagement. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
29 | Progress Made During Prior Year (approximately 50 words) | Instructional mindsets were shifted to think critically during data meetings about individualized students' needs. Teachers used collected data in ELA and Mathematics to look closely at progress made by economically disadvantaged students. Teachers used the individualized data to plan targeted instruction. EES 4th and 5th grade students continued to make gains in ELA on MCAP by increasing the percentage of proficient learners. This includes a five percent increase in economically disadvantaged and special eduation students scoring proficient on ELA MCAP. In math, 5th grade increased students scoring proficiency by 11%. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
