BatsonLawrence BatsonLaurence Batson - Samuel Bullen, an absentee by 1805 McDonald report, by then likely living in the US though he'd made significant improvements to Lot 30. Occupied in 1805 by Simeon Littlejohn, who "pretends to hold by purchase" possession from Bullen 3 years prior. Laurence Batson, living on Campobello by 1805, also claimed purchase of the lot from Bullen. (GMH XIX: 20) Donald McDonald report, 1805: "Lot 30. Simeon Littlejohn, about 10 acres cleared on this Lot by sundry persons at different times, a Samuel Bullen is said to have been at considerable expense on this lot who is now supposed to be in the U. States, a Lawrence Batson also claims a right to it by virtue of improvements and purchase from the said Bullen, as does the present occupant for 200 Dol. to be paid on Demand to said Bullen."
