| 1 | Killer - SVProductions | Here's a story for you: While judging the Quickening tournament last year, you were one editor that took me by suprise and ended up making my favorite videos of each round. So when I saw you join Roulette, I was like "Oh sweet, can't wait for more SV vids." So while I enjoyed your two first round vids, neither of them hit me hard enough to push me to that "Aw Damn that was slick moment like some of your Quickening vids did." But this video, this video......this video. I think you have some uncanny knack of working with occult anime or something. This video was really slick. Smooth scenes and transitions combined with excellent lyric sync and atmosphere. If I had to define a death/dance AMV, this would be the example. I really appreciate that your concept of the video heavily centered on and integrated the requirement so successfully. My only complaint is the runtime...make it longer T.T. But bravo for this and know that none of my story above set any unattainably high expectations for you or anyone else in this contest. :P | Oh my god yes. This is the SVProductions that I loved from The Quickening. I knew she was hiding somewhere! You've got some sexy sync and flow, great special requirement integration, good atmosphere and source selection. Only complaints are the glitch k-k-killer sections with recursive editing could be a bit better (such as the one from GC where pink hair girl turns around) and stay away from lip syncing a pretty female with an obvious male's voice. Very minor complaints. Love this. My personal favorite of the round. | I have to say, this is one of the better uses of the special requirement I've seen in this round, without making it feel forced. I like that you took the time to select sources that were all fitting to the song, and you held strong to your concept throughout the entire duration of the video. Editing is pretty slick overall, and you kept up with the pace of the song very well. Overall, really nice work! | Wow, this is a fantastic amv. Everything was smooth and edited quite well. Definitly your best round. The only complaint I have would be the tv screen. I think you couldve made it looked a tad bit better. Anyways, it is a minor complaint. | Pretty great everything synch, I liked the consistancy.
| 2 | The Perils of Galaxy Bouncing - Copycat_Revolver | I honestly can't say anything bad about this video. It has a fun and fitting concept. The editing hits the lyrics, the beats, the sampling, everything. It's like some seven armed buddha of video sync multitasking while doing an alluring dance...with a chainsaw (Had to add that). But yeah, I appreciate the satire, the lip sync, the jokes, and that scene where the characters fan out and around on beat was super slick. Overall this is like the hybrid of a fun, comedy, dance, parody vid rolled up in one sleek, chill package and I like it. | You already made this video. | Lyrical sync is pretty funny, and the editing is very solid throughout the entire duration of the video. Lip sync is also implented well, just like your entries from the past rounds. Overall, this is fun to watch. | The internal sync and lipsync is well done. Overall editing is great. The quality of the sources differs though. | The lyric synch is too good. The everything else synch was pretty spot on as well.
| 3 | You Can Call Me Shin (Moves to Kill v 2.0) - Phlashbak | You good sir have got a case of editing schizophrenia. You're first two vids in this tourney were all about hitting the lyrics and integrating motion from inside the scene. this video still does that, but with panning, zooming, blurring, waaaahhhhh. To say the least, it surprised me. I was good because it gave the video an extra layer of polish and dynamic when it all worked. But when it didn't worked it was a hard to see and hard to follow. The focus of the video seemed torn between the angst and the fun. So it was a tug-of-war throughout going from mech fights to swim class. But it still worked and was an impressive showcase to behold. Just find the balance between too much motion and not enough and there you'll have you ideal style. :P | Not bad. Very different from what we've seen you do in the past couple rounds but it's interesting to see you experiment. Cool combo because it works surprisingly well for a Lelouche character profile. You've got some good moments of sync too. However, there isn't nearly enough Lelouche for a good character profile. And get those shit stock effects out of here, you're better than that >:| Sync isn't super consistent either. I prefer when you're Kiet, not Shin. Spiders. | Pretty well edited througout, with the exception of a few things...the roto transition at 0:30 could be improved (maybe less feathering? looks a little messy) and I would tone down on some of those stock effects. Definitely loved those sweet moments of internal sync, though. And I lol'd at the bit at the end. >> | The only thing I would complain is the stock effects. I would take those out if you do a final version of this. | ROTO WIIIIIIIIIIPES
| 4 | Hands up , Ass Up! - RhymeticA | This video has some great points and some bleh points. I have to say off the bat, that this is a very competent dance video. Good motion and sync abound. The bleh parts came with the implementation of the death scenes. I'm not critiquing based off the requirement, but they didn't fit and became a hindrance to the videos flow with how out of place they seemed. I liked the overall vid, but the integration of the death scenes really didn't fit or flow with the rest of the vid. | Really neato custom intro even if the English was kinda broken. The attempt to set up a concept for what most would consider a random genre is appreciated. The dance sections of the video are actually pretty fun. I love the bouncy feel and atmosphere that it caries and you actually had some fun lyric sync here and there. The special requirement however, was not integrated well. It feels like those sections could easily be cut out and the video would be exactly the same. To be quite honest, I almost wish you would have just ditched the special requirement all together and put all your time and effort to making the dance bits of your video even better. Since it does nothing for the video, I can't help but look at those sections and think "This is time should could have spent making the rest of her video freaking AMAZING as opposed to just pretty damn good." Do I like it? Yes, I like it |:> | Very solid dance video! It's really bouncy and fun, and fun to watch. Overally editing is very smooth, just like your past videos, and there's a lot of sweet syncing going on. lol at 1:16 btw. Nice try attempting to integrate the special requirement in a different way, but it ended up looking a little awkward, unfortunately. Otherwise, I liked this quite a bit. | You didn't need to do the beginning part. It doesn't have a purpose. You could take it out and it wouldnt affect the video at all. The rest of it is pretty good. It really makes you want to dance ^^ Beyond that, the random text you threw in there wasn't needed as well. Just a distraction seems you only did it a few times. | Loved the internal synch here, and also excellent lyric synch. Good use of dead people.
| 5 | The Only Way - Nessephanie | Thanks for this. Back when I first saw the Macross movies in AMVs, I thought "well, looks like a bunch of dancing and explosions...". So in short...nonsense. And most videos through the years didn't really change my mind. But this vid shows me that there are actually characters and plots happening in this show. And you video shows that this source deserves a stronger presence in the AMV hobby more for it's characters and plots, and less for its dancing and animation. I could follow the story and progression of the vid and the dancing was used well to compliment the music, but not overshadow the true concept of the video. The video is well edited, but could use a bit more punch to some of the sync to during the crescendos of the song. But overall thank you for showing me the story in this nicely focused video! | Why is there no yuri in this video?! I was promised yuri by the banner >:O Macross videos always frighten me since they almost always devolve into the singing/dancing and as someone who considers herself a Macross fan that makes me sad. One of the things that makes Macross great is the balance between themes and how they intertwine in the end. So thank you for giving me a good balanced Macross video :D <3 Your editing is easily the strongest during the slower, more emotional parts of the song but the action editing tends to be a bit slow and drawn out but not horrible. Pacing/action editing issues aside, I enjoyed this as a Macross fan. | Yaaaaaay Chvrches! /fangirl moment. Anyway, I thought this was well done. The sources fit pretty well together, and I liked that you implemented a solid concept...it's nice not to just see that one chick singing for the entire duration of a video. >> I felt like the sync could have been tightened up at times, especially in the choruses, but otherwise, I really liked this a lot. :) | Great concept. On the faster parts, the sync is loose, but on the slow parts is kickass. Overall, I enjoy the video quite alot. | Man the way all those glitch colours indicateed it was the video it'self that was dying! Brilliant! SO META!
| 6 | Clockwork Fairytale - AquaSky | This source combo worked well. The motion and little bits of sync during the ambient parts were a nice touch. I'm sure you'll hear it from the other judges, but the frameblending...oh the frame blending. It normally doesn't bother me a whole lot. But some parts of this were pretty rough. I'm not sure what happened there, but it made it rough on my eyes at points. But back to the content of the vid. I liked your use of motion and representation of the characters. The faster sequences fell a little short in speed for me, but that's just a polishing issue. Overall it was enjoyable and fitting, just needs a bit more work on some rough patches. | Tutuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 Not a super original concept but it works, no doubt about that. You've got some nice moments of internal sync too. Sadly, this video feels like it's at a beta test phase with a round of tweaking needed. There are a decent amount of scenes that feel like they come in just a second too late or stay on screen just a little too long. Plus there are some nasty quality issues. Frame blending out the butt and while I adore Tutu, it's got visual nasties like mad so by blowing it up to such a large resolution they've taken the center stage. Finally, orphan frames. No D: Bad. I want to love this but it's so unfinished. Wry Aqua? Wry won't you let me love it? ;_; | The sources definitely work well together, and I liked the overall mood of this video. The lyric sync works well, and the editing is pretty solid throughout (dug those awesome moments of internal sync), but it just didn't have that extra "oomph" to really keep me engaged throughout the whole thing. There isn't really a lot of dynamic to keep things interesting. The The frame blending was also highly distracting. D: | Love the internal sync in this. Seems like there is a random frame at 1:28. Also, you have alot of scenes with frameblending. Not really anything to say beyond that. | Ohhh tsk tsk tsk Orphen Frames!!! It was a well cut video but i spily didn't find it very engaging.
| 7 | Caramella Bam - Shui | This vid was fun and I hope your soul didn't die too much from making it. I know that this type of music is hard to keep editing too unless you absolutely love it. Trust me, I know. So kudos for sticking with it. Overall the sync works and the idea is fun. It needed an infusion of creativity ideas or gimmicks though to get it above similar videos of its type. By the middle, it was too formulaic and needed some more diverse sync or style to keep it's staying power on screen. But overall a solid effort. | Mmmmm, grape juice is delicious. Honestly, if it wasn't for the "another shitty IC round" text I probably would have given this a couple more points. This is oddly enjoyable in a horribly sick way. It's a true troll video but the execution backs it up for the majority of the video. The cop out section of "I don't want to edit anymore" and the text at the start are two parts I could have easily gone without. I understand your method of thinking and why you did it but the rest of the video is actually well done. You need to give yourself some more credit and not muck it up with poo like that :P I know you hate it but it's actually pretty great so suck it. | Haha wow...that was morbidly hilarious. I think you met the special requiremnet and then some. :p This video works well for what it is, and the syncing was pretty tight throughout. The little jokes scattered throughout within the text didn't really do a whole lot for me, and the lip sync was kind of sloppy and poorly timed. Otherwise, this was pretty funny, in a very over the top/body parts flying everywhere kind of way. | Welp, you changed how I view this song now... The jokes you had in this were hilarious but at the same time doesn't fit with the video. The parts with the lip flap look terrible. In the end, I did laugh my ass off. | I thought Shui dropped ... the bass. P.S. I love you SHui like so much. like all of it.
| 8 | Killin' it - Drango | This video is like a dangerous roller coaster. The beginning dance is expected and fun, like the slow ascent to the top of the first drop of the tracks. But then the beat drops and people start violently dying; like uber violently dying. And that's when the roller coaster derails and everyone onboard plummet to an unsuspecting death. It made me laugh and really shocked me, but that is both a good and bad thing. It's good because you had my attention and made me laugh, but bad because the video is essentially two completely different ideas smashed together. So while the editing was solid and well timed, the drastic transition and contrast of the two halves of the video didn't really mesh to make a cohesive concept. | I think this video actually had better lip sync than your Round 2 video xD It's easily my favorite of yours out of the 3. You've got some pretty great lyric sync throughout the video including the non "Killin it" sections such as the Hyouka predator joke. To top it off you've got some solid internal sync |:> Biggest complaint is the unbalanced source usage since once the song breakouts the Idolm@ster totally goes away and it becomes straight up death. The contrast of sparkly concert happy times to horrible death was one of the things that made the murder reveal so damn funny, so by taking that aspect away it loses some of it's shock value and isn't quite as funny by the end. Beyond that the internal sync lets up here and there but that can easily be corrected. You KILLED it ;D | The long, seemingly un-edited Another scene at the beginning kinda turned me off a bit, but I was glad to see that the video improves after that. The lyric sync is hilarious, and I was dying during the killin' it sequences (no pun intended :p). I feel like you could have done a lot more with the dubstep sections, though...sync-wise there were some missed opportunites. | First off, the lipsync is way better than the last round, why? XD but great job on it. The beginning felt like it was just there for filler, then it starts to pick up. Then you killed it with the lyric sync. The dubstep parts was alittle weak. | "I'm a predetor" Is probably my favourite lyric synch ever like ever ever. The rest of the lyric synch was killin it as well. I think there needed a bit more action during the Dubsteppyness though
| 9 | Tiny Japanese Girl - MinetChan | This vid had a fun lighthearted concept. At points it was spot on and was very amusing. At other points the scenes disconnected from the song. This was evident during the first overly deceptive lyrics about the shoe locker. It may have been better to maybe cut that part of the song shorter because it looks like you ran out of scenes to use for them. Other than that I had fun with the scene selection and fitting concept. The integration of the requirement felt lax, but wasn't focused on enough to seem overly distracting. | hahaha, a fitting source to say the least. You've got some great moments of internal sync throughout the video too. I'm always a big fan of custom jokes so having her continuously pop out of tiny boxes and such made me giggle. Rotos are almost perfect too! Requirement however feels forced and actually take away from the video since it just shows up. Song could have done with a cut since in the grand scheme of things he actually talks about his shoes for a large percentage of the video. Rotos had slight halos of their previous background such as the one at 0:50 you could see the blue outline from the previous background. (This can be fixed with a bit of stroking the edges with black ) Flashing at the end fits but it's a tiny bit too strong. And finally While she is singing about barely being able to see her, I can clearly see the outline of an attempt to hide lip flap xD This video is a lot of fun and just about all the complaints I've got for it are minor nitpicks that can be easily fixed as opposed to major problems that destroy the video. Good job :D | Lol this was cute...I liked it. :3 You did a great job trying to match the lyrics, and the custom effects were a nice touch. My biggest problem I have with this video is the use of the special requirement...it's very awkwardly integrated and does nothing for the video but distract from the concept. The flashes toward the end are also a little bit harsh and could be toned down. | I love the beginning, great sync. The camera shakes and flashes at the end is distracting. Also, the lyncsync at 1:01 needs to be fixed. You can the outline of the mask. Also, thanks for getting this song stuck in my head again. | Should stayed on the beginning shot forever. (seriously though, this was pretty fun, great synch, i dig)
| 10 | Longest Road - ailynerie | This one was another entry that I could appreciate having a natural take on the requirement. I thought the video was very moody and fitting. The source is gorgeous so that never hurts. I liked the parts the most where I could see the correlation between the lyrics and the story/events. When the video made sense to me it was quite enjoyable. But there were times when I couldn't divulge the point of the scenes on screen and I got lost. Mainly when guns were being fired by the main dude. So overall it was hit and miss, I liked what had good sync and fit, but got lost a bit during certain scenes because I'm not familiar enough with the show/characters. | Hardy Har Har! Yer sooooo funny XP I love this song and it honestly feels like Sunday Without God is a great match visually for it. It's got just the right amount of solemn and shine to really embody the song perfectly. Once the video gets to the 30 second mark or so the story becomes easy enough to follow with a girl who is in love but the feeling seem to be unrequited. Very smooth overall editing too. Also, no logo finally! :D :D :D YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! My biggest complaint about the video is that it feels like it's building and building towards a breakout and then it just kind of fizzles and ends. You keep the viewer thinking that the song is going to explode into a mess of beauty and sadness but then it just fades out.... Beyond that, that roto transition at 1:22 didn't really sit too well with me since it's a transition from a cool colored scene to warm and just bleh D: So smooth and pretty but it's a long road that really goes nowhere :< | You have a very good atmosphere in place, and even though I'm unfamiliar with this show, it was fairly easy to follow what's going on. I can always appreciate when an editor pays attention to the lyrics and creates a strong concept. Some of the camera motion was really jerky and could've been smoothed out a bit, and the roto transition at 1:22 was a little rough and didn't quite flow right. But overall, the editing was pretty smooth, and the video was enjoyable to watch. | Editing was pretty smooth besides that 1 transition (I think you know what im talking about :P). Also, it does feel like it was building up but then it just fades and ends. If you ever go back and touch this up I would remove the joke in the beginning X3 | The flow of the video is all over the place. It's a very odd thing to follow since the song is so incredibly consistent.
| 11 | Eurydice - AngelDragoon | I'm glad to see a different implementation of the requirements. this video features the death and loss subtle and in context which I appreciate. The lyrical parts were well done and conveyed the overall atmosphere of the story to me. I would say that the instrumental parts didn't have enough of a pace difference from the slow to create a large amount of dynamic. Maybe some faster cuts and less sequential scenes would give these sequences more motion and sync with the stronger beats. Overall this was a pretty vid with a good handle on the source material. Made for a good watch. | Mmmm.... Yuri Dice =w= Very chill mix with an overall pleasing aesthetic. It carries a good grove for the most part while the slow sections are going and the special requirement is intelligently incorporated into the source footage. Smart move downscaling to keep the sources all lookin' good too. My biggest complaint is lack of source balance. I never thought I would ever say that I wanted to see more Steins;Gate but almost the entire second half of the video falls back on Children Who Chase Lost Voices. I think this is more because you lost steam because the sync falls apart once it hits the halfway point too. While it's ambitious to go for a long video (and you've got my respect for the attempt) the lack of balance hurts the video pretty badly. Beyond that some of your sped up scenes are a bit too obvious since they're sprinkled in here and there between scenes that either move incredibly slowly or just plainly haven't been altered. Video was pretty left behind when the song picked up too. A full version of this would actually be really freaking awesome. It's probably my personal favorite from you out of the 3 so if you ever decide to finish it you better let me know :P Just balance out the source and don't lose your smooth groove. | I loved the feel of this video, and it's definitely visually pleasing to watch. The color alterations are well implemented for the most part, with the exception of of a few scenes being overly bright and saturated. The main thing that did bother me though is the unbalanced use of your sources. The newer Shinkai film sections dragged on while Stein's Gate/Place Promised had hardly any screen time. The pacing was also kinda all over the place, with the slower sections being pretty good, and the more upbeat sections being a bit too slow for the song. | I love how you blend the sources together but I do think it was unbalanced. The slow sections of the song was amazing done well but when the beat picked up it felt too slow. With some touchups here and there, this video could be top notch. Go back and fix it up and release this too the world~ | The flow in this video tended not to match the flow of the song. The parts of the song that were slower the video matched up well, but when the song picked up I felt the video remained stagnant. I like the mixed video componants.
| 12 | Party Dance Blam - Blaksun | This video has a good foundation. The source is fitting for the music and also for the special requirement. I liked both segments of the vid. The opening dancing was fitting, and the war scenes at the end were fun. But the transition from one to the other was a bit to random and sudden. It needed more time to get from dancing to dying. I guess maybe if the vid had more hints in the beginning as to what was going to happen later, then the balance wouldn't seem so off. But overall it was fun and unexpected. P.P. That scene with the chick blindfiring is hilarious. | Probably one of the most fitting titles I've seen in a while lol This is such a WTF dance video that I'm actually curious about checking the source out. It works but, what the hell, man? WHAT THE HELL? Only real comment on this is that it could use much tighter internal sync and it just kinda ends. Wat. I don't even. WAT. | Starts out as kind of a generic dance video, and goes on to incorporate some action sequences and death...I'm not really sure what to think by the end of it lol. Anyway, breaking up the dance sequences would have probably made this more interesting - I was starting to zone out a lot before you mixed things up with the action stuff. Sync was also pretty loose and could have been tightened up a lot. | This made me laugh and be like "WTF?". The dance section does drag on and the internal sync is all over the place. | BRONY MUSIC | I think the music and the video could have matched pace a little more closely in parts but overall I liked it.
| 13 | (SPOILER ALERT) More Than I Can Take - sakuraslight | Who says there can't be a sad dance video? I liked the concept behind this one. The loses portrayed in the scenes mostly shared a kindred theme and meshed together well. A few were a bit off target, like the grandma from Summer Wars, but overall it hit the points it needed to. I can't really say that the 60 fps really made the video better or worse since it was just on the pans and zooms, but I was to busy digging the scene selection to notice. | I was really digging the idea of lost love. It's a simple yet pretty theme that easy enough to follow and you've got some moments of nice internal sync. However, it apparently isn't all about lost love since we've got some quite lively couples in the video, Amazing Nuts for some reason, and then we end it all with a dying grandma? Even a general concept of loss no longer becomes applicable when Hyouka shows up. Some shows seem to pop up just for a single lyric such as FLCL and the "smoke into my lungs" bit. Source balance was needed to help make it not look like a cheesy cop out. The source quality went from good to horribly bad. Amazing Nuts was never 720p so by blowing it up to that size you've totally destroyed any quality it had going for it. Sources like FLCL, Chunibyou, Gurren Lagann, and a couple others had pretty nasty issues too. Finally, those zooms didn't look good. I couldn't figure out why they felt so unfitting and awkward until Replay pointed out that the video was in 60fps. However, only the zoom effects are 60fps with normal speed anime so it just created a really off putting effect that didn't feel right at all. A possible really great concept that suffers from the fact that it's apparently not the concept, bad visual quality, inconsistent source usage, poor effects work, and dying grandmas. | Oh hey, my favorite Ellie Goulding song. :3 Pretty solid video, but the thing that really stuck out to me was the overuse of really random scenes that didn't correlate with the lyrics at all. The focus wavered a lot because of that, and left me with only the editing alone to keep me engaged. You did a good job trying to keep things interesting with the editing, but the camera motion was a little awkward at times, and some of the transitions were pretty choppy. | I felt for this song that the animes were just random. Your timing is good but some of the transitions were meh. I noticed you did 60fps. For a 60fps video, it doesn't really seem "smooth". Also, your quality was slightly random espically on the amazing nuts scenes. Overall, I did enjoy the video. | The main negative thing I saw about this was that the footage quality was really inconsistant. It hurt the overall score. but it's still an above average dance video.
| 14 | Svoordance - slimed | An interesting take on Samurai Champloo. the music really works at times and produces so good sync opportunities and at other times it becomes a bit too repetitive and that bled over into the video pace as well. I appreciate the segments where the video hits all it queues and the character or scene on screen matches the song, but there were too many points where it just wasn't sharp enough during fight sequences to get that BAM out of the beat/sync combo. | This is an oddly enjoyable combo. But it's missing that sexy sync that you've become known for. That's really it. Why slimed? Why? Give me more sex sync. MOAR. | When this video started, I was really pumped for a slick Champloo vid, but unfortunately it fell short. :( There was some potential for some sweet internal sync, but I really just wasn't seeing it. I would love to see this re-edited with some of that sweet syncing we've seen from you in past rounds. | The main complaint I have with this is the internal sync. I would go back and fix it up~ | It's Die Antwoord! ha ha Slimed you are great. The lyric synch is great I love it. I think you went a little overboard on the shake though.
| 15 | Death and Revival - Snowflakes1515 | Watching this first as a video that has similarities in the characters situations and time travel elements, it works. Very moody, fitting and sentimental to the stories going on. But Yue informed the judges that there was a custom story being told, and that caused me to feel a bit lost and confused at parts, since I couldn't take the scenes with the interpretation I knew them from the show. I liked the idea and the mood, but if you're video has a crossover element to it, it needed a bit more clarity so that I could follow it more closely. | I would love to see a concept like this live up to it's potential. The sync and overall flow you've got going on isn't bad at all but it's not quite what it could be. The custom concept idea is actually more confusing and is detrimental to what it could be. If you would have just stuck with a general time travelers trying to reclaim what they've lost idea this could have been so good. So damn good. The idea of trying endlessly to get back what you've lost has always been such a beautiful one but the forced custom story just throws the viewer off since without the text explaining it, it just looks like a sloppy attempt at a time travelers video where Homura randomly has red eyes for a single scene. | I had a fairly difficult time trying to connect with the storyline of this video. I almost feel like you should have just stuck with Stein's Gate alone and just used its own plotline...but that's just me. Everything flowed together pretty well, editing-wise, but at the end I was left feeling sort of indifferent about the video as a whole. Props for using InnerParty though. :D | Its hard to figure out the story here. The editing was smooth though. Not really anything else to say about it X3 | Too slow - sonic the hedgehog.
| 16 | AMV Beat R.I.P. - chaosgod357 | Ah Krewella, good stuff. I liked the start of the vid for the variety and lyric sync. However the scene selection in the middle grew a bit stale since it looked like one long sequence from HOTD. It would've done better breaking up the sources and keeping the scenes from each scattered throughout. Since the song has more of a fragmented synth beat going it would've lent itself better to quick cuts and scenes from different sources rather than one long flowing sequence. The twitch didn't really bug me since the song has a heavy bass rumble at those parts. But overall it was fitting and and had some good moments. | This video made me giggle quite a bit with it's troll intro. It was so over the top with so much blood that I couldn't help smile at it. Sadly, as soon as the song starts to kick off the troll jokes end and so does the fun :( All sources, save for a lone scene from Sunday Without God, disappear in favor of incredibly long scenes from High School of the Dead. The sync is is almost nonexistent with twitch heavily used throughout the video. Twitch =/= Sync Nor does it look good, fit the visual aesthetic or even accomplish proper sync. It's used during multiple types of electronic sampling so it doesn't even accentuate a certain single sound. Had a great trolly start but changed it's mind and went with a serious action mess :( | Definitely wasn't digging all the twitch...it's not synced very well at all, and is more of a distraction than anything. I liked the way the video started out, with the funny/over the top lyric sync, but then it goes downhill from there. The syncing seems really lazy (especially with the twitch effect scattered all over), and the use of footage is super unbalanced...I'm not sure why you just continued to use Highschool of the Dead for at least a good 2/3rds of the video straight. I wish you had kept up with the lyric sync you had in the beginning and hadn't switched gears in the middle to make this a straight up action video. D: | Started off great. Good lyric matching, etc. In the beginning you had a good mix of sources but when you got to the highschool of the dead, you just stayed. That really killed the amv. After that point it just felt lazy, etc. I recommend going back and redoing this because I like the idea of this amv. This could be amazing amv. So please go finish it properly please~ | TWITCH I think there were alot of missed opportunities for internal synch The beginning was SO GOOD i wish the lyric synch had kept up. Just sort of turned into HSOTD at the end
| 17 | Influence - MentalTsui | Very smooth action editing and flow. The subtle ambience of the song suits Casshern well. I wasn't a fan of the color effects, they made the video look sloppy and hard to focus on. But the atmosphere and scene selection captured the hopelessness of the show. In the end this was a good action video, but I couldn't see many dance elements. | This is a pretty solid drama video for the most part. While the song has been done to death, it fits Casshern rather well considering he really does have it all taken away. Every. Fucking. Episode. The drama lead in is very effective at building a very bleak and atmospheric world for the video to take place in. While a bit on the long side considering the video is only 2 minutes long, I rather enjoyed it. Nice effects work in this section too. Problem is, when it's finally time for the video to kick in it kinda falls flat. The action editing is just so-so and rather slow, getting left behind by the song. Combine the slow editing with those horrid color effects and we've got a sad Yue D: The color effects don't sync to anything (at least not anything as blatantly obvious as they feel like they should) nor do they match the general aesthetic of the video that has been built so far. Casshern sure does go O_O a lot. Has to potential to be a fitting drama video but far from dance. Ditch the poo effects, work on the pacing and call me back. | This starts off really great...the dark/moody atmosphere is portrayed well with the blurring and the color alterations. However, when the song finally begins to pick up with the first refrain, the video doesn't seem to quite keep up with the song. The editing itself is very smooth, but I kept feeling like I wanted to push the video along to match the fast paced tempo. And that color glitchy effect doesn't seem to serve any purpose and stuck out terribly. Otherwise, I did enjoy this, even though it kind of missed the mark for being a "dance" video. | This is more like a drama video. With that said, the editing was pretty smooth. When the song picks up, your source doesnt keep up. The effects you added didn't fit and I recommend going back and taking those out. | Everything was going so well until that colour glitch effect. It was bad. overall i quite liked it.
| 18 | Zambies Don't Dance - Janikachan | This vid worked as a whole. Every part had a significance to the overall theme and idea. They run, escape, fight, etc. There was a good variety and balance to the scene selection. Nothing felt like it overstayed its welcome. There could have been some sharper high moments during the louder section of the song where the action was escalated a bit more, but as it is the video works and is enjoyable. You used HOTD in a way I'd like to see more often, in context and with meaning and restraint. Yes, there were some crotches and boobs, but it wasn't in every second of the video, instead there was meaning and progression to the events happening. Thank you for that consideration and this vid. | Teehee, this concept is funny to me. Sink your teeth into my flesh x3 You've got some cool moments of sync here and there such as the b-b-b-beat bit. Sync and pacing however is very inconsistent. There really isn't any progression either. The video starts off and they're murderin' zambies left and right and they end murderin' zambies left and right. You're so good at coming up with fitting ideas and concepts, the execution just needs to be worked on. | Pacing and flow are kind of all over the place throughout this video...kind of hit or miss. It almost feels too fast paced during some of the slower sections of the song than during the more upbeat parts. You have some cool moments of syncing, but it's rather inconsistant, with the majority of the video feeling kind of messy. I was digging the source match, so With some tighter syncing and better pacing I think this could be a really cool video. | The editing felt lazy. Pacing is all over the place. I do think this idea could be amazing if you went back re-edit it ^^ | I don't know man, it was fairly well cut. but I'm just not feeling it. Not happy not angry just sorta felt nothing. I think you are quite the capible editor, but it appears that you lacked inspiration this video.
| 19 | DanceXtra Idols Editions - Kagacie | I assume from the intro of the video that this vid is supposed to mimic an introduction video to a video game. If so, then you did a good job of replicating that feel. The timing was on and it had a good flow to it all. The problem with game intros is that they are usually a bit to shallow and brief to really get you into the scenes. This is mainly because they are teasing you to go see them by actually playing the game. This video suffered a bit in that department mainly because there was no game for me to follow the video with. So while it was a good idea, it left a bit more to be desired after the fact since it didn't leave me with a solid sense of conclusion. | You've got some moments of good internal sync and I appreciate the attempt to set it up as a video game. I was expecting really amazing things after your Round 2 video ;_; However, the special requirement is just tossed in there without audio (which is a big no-no) and the video itself is pretty loose overall. It seems to drop the idea of "this has something to do with a video game" when it becomes nothing but random dancing. I get that it's a movie on the game's bonus features but it doesn't feel much like an extra feature movie on a game at all. (I've played enough vidjama games to know what bonus features look like :P) I know you can make great things since you did for Round 2 so I was disappointed to see such an average dance video. You've got the talent but you just didn't shine this round. | The text effect at the beginning could be a little cleaner, with some better color coordination. The way you incorporated the special requirement also seemed like kind of a cop-out. Overall, this video just felt kind of...bland. I mean, the scenes flow well enough with the music, but it's kind of boring to watch girls dancing around the whole time. With a mix of some different scene selection, I think this could be improved a lot. | The Intro part was pretty terrible, then you had the people deaths with couple of those repeated itself. The dance part of the amv was average, but got boring overtime with just watching dance scenes. Also, you encoded it into wmv. If you ever touch this up, I would take out the intro and reencode to mp4. | I don't think what you were doing here worked. It was really generic, and the way you incorporated the dead bodies was kind of lazy
