4 | 1/10/2021 20:21:58 | Estevan Z. | TheRealBanzi) | 1091 | 90 | "Cigar 1091 is a box press cigar sporting a dark brown, with some reddish hues, colored wrapper. It is much darker near the cap then it is nearest to the foot. It has visible seams and veins that looked to be flatten out cause of the box pressing. It is dule with only a few shots sporting an oily sheen. Upon a closer inspection, you find an extremely fine tooth throughout the body of the cigar. All of this is finished with a nicely applied triple cap. " -Estevan Z. (TheRealBanzi) | 87.5 | "When you sniff the body of this cigar you are immediately met with a strong vanilla note. Diving deeper into the aromas and you can find undertones of honey and some barnyard funk. Turning my attention to the foot, I find more barnyard and vanilla but also add some hints of tree moss. After cutting the cap and taking some pre-light draws I find all of the above and add some tannins and white oak. There is a whole lot going on here. Let's hope that it all transfers over to the smoking experience." -Estevan Z. (TheRealBanzi) | 87.5 | Medium | Medium | "Upon lighting this cigar, the smoke dries out my palate making me have to take a sip of water. It stays that way for the first inch or so. Pushing some smoke through the nose and it makes my eyes water because of the red pepper flake tingle is really harsh. Thankfully, the red pepper flakes tingle subsides to a manageable level. The profile on the palate, for the majority of the third, is charred wood. There are fleeting moments for cacao, marshmallow, and floral notes that try to bring balance to the palate but they fail. The finish and mouth feel is short and light with a pepper tingle. " -Estevan Z. (TheRealBanzi) | 85 | Mild-Medium | Light-Medium | "I just can't get into this cigar. The charred wood note has continued from the last third. It is mainly unchecked till the last few minutes of the third. That late shift in profile introduces fresh toasted rye bread coated with cinnamon. This is as good as it gets in this third. It has seemed to have lost body and strength from the first part of the cigar. The finish and mouth feel stays light with note of artificial black licorice. " -Estevan Z. (TheRealBanzi) | 87.5 | Medium | Medium | "The charred wood note finally moves to the background and a nice floral and herbal note moves to the forefront making me wish that it as here the whole time. Sadly, it is fleeting as well. Half way through the third the smoke becomes very creamy giving me a nice mouth feel. The finish has lengthened a bit thanks to a nice cinnamon tingle. I choose to set it down when the palate gets super peppery, forcing me to tap out. " -Estevan Z. (TheRealBanzi) | 92.5 | "I never had a problem with the draw on this cigar. Free and easy draws created ample smoke. This also allowed the cigar to burn nice and cool. " -Estevan Z. (TheRealBanzi) | 90 | "I was amazed at how well the first inch of this cigar burned. The ash was tight stacked very nicely but fell out soon there after. In the second third, the ash became very flaky and the burn went off. This did not effect the smoke production or experience in any way. I know that there are some smokers that would have been touching it up constantly, in the last two thirds, but I did not. " -Estevan Z. (TheRealBanzi) | 90 | "It was good but never perfect. There looked to be a few under packed spot in the bunch, causing the uneven burn in the second third. The cigar was serviceable. " -Estevan Z. (TheRealBanzi) | 87.5 | "There's a cigar for everyone but this one was not for me. As far as burn and construction, I really wish that it performed as well as it did during the first inch. The flavor profile was unbalanced from start to finish, in my opinion. It tries but just doesn't get there. As usual with this kind of thing I will try it again, cause they are hand made products. In doing so I can get a truth understanding of what this cigar is about. Till then, I find it hard to recommend this cigar to anyone. 5 | 1/13/2021 13:37:05 | Isaac M. | The Nothing) | 1091 | 92.5 | "This cigar showed off distinct seams on a dark box press. It was almost greasy to the touch, much like cold butter. " -Isaac M. (The Nothing) | 90 | "Saddle tack and barnyard smells were very noticeable. " -Isaac M. (The Nothing) | 92.5 | Medium | Medium-Full | "The cigar started off with a milk chocolate and cafe au lait flavor. There was a bit of cinnamon and black pepper so faint that they could easily be overlooked. The smoke output was quite healthy. " -Isaac M. (The Nothing) | 87.5 | Medium | Medium | "This certainly took a change in the second third. The main flavor moved into something I can only describe as marshmallows puff. It was sweet thick and creamy. The texture on my palate was nearly chewable. The milk chocolate and espresso drink were still there, but they are not as pronounced as they were at the start of the cigar." -Isaac M. (The Nothing) | 92.5 | Medium-Strong | Medium-Full | "The final third made another turn and brought on a variety of tastes with roasted malts, coffee beans, and burnt ends. It was quite the contrast when compared to the rest of the cigar. " -Isaac M. (The Nothing) | 87.5 | "The first two thirds brought on a great draw, but things certainly tightened up towards the finish." -Isaac M. (The Nothing) | 90 | "While it never needed correction, the cigar never burned anywhere close to straight. Ash held fairly well." -Isaac M. (The Nothing) | 90 | "The construction was solid, and it would score better with me if it hadn't tightened up at the end. " -Isaac M. (The Nothing) | 92.5 | "Give me another one of these! This was a solid stick with flavors that I rather enjoy. The middle third was probably the weak spot on this cigar where flavorss kind of drowned in themselves and the marshmallow puff. I'm not going to say that portion of the cigar was bad, but it was not the highlight. Fortunately there's plenty of other things going on in this cigar to make the downsides forgettable. The finish and mouth feel is short and light with a pepper tingle. | Fair | Mild-Medium | Light-Medium | I just can't get into this cigar. | Good | Medium | Medium | The charred wood note finally moves to the background and a nice floral and herbal note moves to the forefront making me wish that it as here the whole time. Sadly, it is fleeting as well. Half way through the third the smoke becomes very creamy giving me a nice mouth feel. The finish has lengthened a bit thanks to a nice cinnamon tingle. I choose to set it down when the palate gets super peppery, forcing me to tap out. | Great | I never had a problem with the draw on this cigar. Free and easy draws created ample smoke. This also allowed the cigar to burn nice and cool. | Very Good | I was amazed at how well the first inch of this cigar burned. The ash was tight stacked very nicely but fell out soon there after. In the second third, the ash became very flaky and the burn went off. This did not effect the smoke production or experience in any way. I know that there are some smokers that would have been touching it up constantly, in the last two thirds, but I did not. | Very Good | It was good but never perfect. There looked to be a few under packed spot in the bunch, causing the uneven burn in the second third. The cigar was serviceable. | Good | There's a cigar for everyone but this one was not for me. | 95
92 | 1/13/2021 13:37:05 | Isaac M. (The Nothing) | 1091 | Great | This cigar showed off distinct seams on a dark box press. It was almost greasy to the touch, much like cold butter. | Very Good | Saddle tack and barnyard smells were very noticeable. | Great | Medium | Medium-Full | The cigar started off with a milk chocolate and cafe au lait flavor. There was a bit of cinnamon and black pepper so faint that they could easily be overlooked. The smoke output was quite healthy. | Good | Medium | Medium | This certainly took a change in the second third. The main flavor moved into something I can only describe as marshmallows puff. It was sweet thick and creamy. The texture on my palate was nearly chewable. The milk chocolate and espresso drink were still there, but they are not as pronounced as they were at the start of the cigar. | Great | Medium-Strong | Medium-Full | The final third made another turn and brought on a variety of tastes with roasted malts, coffee beans, and burnt ends. It was quite the contrast when compared to the rest of the cigar. | Good | The first two thirds brought on a great draw, but things certainly tightened up towards the finish. | Very Good | While it never needed correction, the cigar never burned anywhere close to straight. Ash held fairly well. | Very Good | The construction was solid, and it would score better with me if it hadn't tightened up at the end. | Great | Give me another one of these! | 105
