OBJECTIVESBuild classroom community through group games and discussions. Identify parts of the communication model. Analyze barriers to communication and how to overcome them. Analyze audience characteristics and why they matter. Explain why ethics matter in speech-giving. Learn and identify parts of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Develop and deliver informative speeches. Learn how to select a topic appropriate to the task and audience. Develop a speech outline to clearly organize ideas. Find and use reliable sources. Learn how to share verbal citations in speaking and practice skill. Use MLA or APA style guides to appropriately cite information.
