To "accomodate" students, instructors changed course outlines and instead of decreasing workload they've increased the graded componenets so much. Some instructors give less than 24 hours to do a lengthy assignment during mid week and call it a "cp assignment". There's no concept of giving a class off if the midterm is not in class timing (like it used to be on campus). And some instructors keep both the live classes during the week AND upload several recorded lectures of more than an hour. That's like 4-5 classes of one course in a week.

Yar mostly, when I'm free, all others are busy and why they are free,I become busy. I am unable to give time to deal with it. And also there is none who can take me outside and have some fun activities.

Its just impossible to cope up with the deadlines. I get 0 time for myself or family which means my mental health is in a very bad state rn

The fact that Kids from SSE have to study presumably basic 100 level courses when they're actually so much more difficult. Our faculty advisors won't even show up for scheduled Zoom meetings. :(

There's too much to do. And the professors still expect the se results as an in person semester. they still expect us to do as much assignments as before, don't trust students and pretend as if it'd just another minor inconvenience like a road jam. I don't know what it will take to understand that the world as we know it is ending. Our families don't understand what it means to be in a university or the insane workload this has placed. It's like being in a box that's constantly narrowing.

It’s understandable that the workload would be greater in soph year but I have 14 credit hours and there is still a lot of work. If there are no written assignments, there are always extensive readings which is an unhealthy amount of screen time. A lot of work piles over the weekend and although doable, you do suffer by losing on sleep or family time

I don’t know about other professors, but I’m in HSS and my professors are almost always very helpful and kind.

The problem for me isn't that online workload is too much or too hard but the fact that it just isn't the same. It is physically and mentally tiring. I can be well rested and still go to my class and feel my head aching because of how terrible sitting infront of a laptop for entire days is. Laptops used to be for a few hours of use or making presentations etc, now you wake up and sleep with your laptop. The eye strain makes it very demotivating to attend classes or to study. The experience just isn't geared towards learning, it's just geared towards completing your degree....

Workload wouldn’t seem as bad if professors weren’t strict on deadlines or being in class at the dot. The biggest factor is screen time though, because everything is online (classes, readings, assignments, help, office hours, socialising, relaxing), it takes a toll on our health (bad headaches, eye strain, muscles cramping). It’s not a once in a while thing, it happens every single day. And because of the timings extending to 8 pm, when do we get to work on readings or assignments? Late into the night! So sleep is cut down too, it’s just a continuous race of keeping up and jumping from one task to another task within that one position, one setting. It’s really mentally draining and that’s why it feels like a bigger workload.

I think there should be some sort of system where teachers before assigning work can see how much workload the student already has from other courses and plan it accordingly cuz it sucks when u have quizzes and mids and assignments and struggling with them then this teacher gives a new one

The workload is much greater and unmanageable as compared to offline semester. Instructors are giving as many assignments as possible and in an average, I have atleast 4 or more assignments every week which is very unmanageable.
