Please briefly outline the overall aims of the programme. This should clarify to a prospective student why they should choose this programme, what it will provide to them and what benefits they will gain from completing it.

Our BSc course stands out from other comparable courses in that it puts a strong emphasis on scientific methods across all sub-disciplines of behavioural science. The programme is designed to engage students with the theories, perspectives, and methods that are used to study the mind, the brain, and behaviour, whilst also developing high-level skills in empirical investigation and scientific data analysis. The curriculum is divided into five strands that carry through the first and second year: (1) Brain and behaviour, (2) Development and language, (3) Perception and cognition, (4) Social, personality, and abnormal psychology, and (5) Research methods. In their final year, students choose advanced modules from a range of options taught in small to medium-size groups. They also undertake a comprehensive review of the literature in a topic of their choice and an empirical research project based on original data. These capabilities, combined with opportunities to develop professional communication and project skills, allow our students to go on to graduate-level employment in various sectors of the job market, ranging from health care to education to technology, as well as moving on to more advanced scientific research.
