20262026 High Council Speaking Assignments

The third Sunday (the 4th Sunday* in some) of most months is designated for High Council speaking assignments in the Riverton Utah Stake. The High Counselor should confirm that date with the ward bishopric to which he is assigned and be flexible in the event of conflicts.

Wards should not normally schedule youth or other speakers on these days so that the assigned message can be delivered without compromising the length of the meeting. It is appropriate to select music, particularly the closing hymn, which will compliment the assigned subject matter. A hymn or special musical number between speakers is appropriate.

The high councilor will split your companion speaker assignments between your assigned auxiliary (documented below) and a recently returned missionary (use 'Link to Missionaries' below). The companion speaker should speak first for 10 minutes. It is critical that the companion speaker understand this time limit so that the high councilman has adequate time to develop and deliver the message from the Stake Presidency.

The meeting must end on time. This means that the high councilman must finish his address five minutes before the scheduled end of the meeting unless specifically authorized to go longer by the Bishop or a member of the Stake Presidency. Finish with your testimony about the assigned message.
